[ The call to Lyle had been simple enough. "I have those things for Frederick. I'm coming over later to drop them off." Though it sounded like a casual request to meet up, there was none of his usual formalities. No "are you busy"? There was no question in his tone. He was dropping by.

Of course, Lyle would have no idea what his brother was talking about, but he wasn't exactly lying. As a cover, he lugged a duffel bag over his shoulder, with various tech gear stowed inside. Neil knocked on the door to the house his brother shared with Anew, idly hoping that she wasn't around. There was no good way to ask his brother to have her vacate the premises; not without seeming suspicious...

The less people that knew about this, the smoother things would go. ]

[When Lyle got the call from his brother, he could tell something was up by the way Neil just announced he was coming over. He'd stopped questioning Neil's calls. He'd find out eventually what they were about.

So he was waiting for Neil in the living room, reading with Frederick sitting beside. At the knock, he got up to get the door. The haro rotated to watch as Lyle opened the door]

	I hope so. [ He rests the stock against his shoulder, lining up as if he would shoot it down the hall, to test the scope. ] Hrn. It won't be easy to test it, and calibrate it. You should know, the revolver wasn't exactly machined. It has a slight pull, and the trigger takes quite a squeeze. Just so you're not surprised. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Good to know. I'll remember that. [He looks over the revolver for a moment before putting it and the ammo in the same spot the rifle had been]

I'd wish you luck for Lacus's sake, but since we don't what the reaction is going to be if you are successful... [He trails off at that]

Not in secret, anyhow. [ Sigh. He'll have to figure something out, or else risk relying on an untested weapon for that one shot he needs. ]

I don't think many people will miss him. [ A smirk as he takes the weapon apart so he can stow it in the bag and not draw attention by having the barrel sticking out from behind his back. ] Still, I don't plan on making it obvious that it was me.

[ There was nothing to add to that. Neil thought he had a good plan. Lockon wouldn't be caught over something like this. Not on his worst day. ]

[ Done with that task, he began to pull out the hand-held terminal and cables for Frederick. Then he blinked up at his brother, as the question was innocent enough, but the grin was anything but. ] It's coming along well, I think. Some people like it, and some don't, but I don't expect everyone to be happy.

	Community service for Acumen. [ The simple answer. He figures that he knows where that line of questioning was headed... Neil hooks up the cables and boots up the program. It's mostly automated, but it still required the occasional but of input. ] (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
