Soul plot and follow-up on vamp attacks
Hey guys! Are you up for some major vamp plotting? Of course you are!

First of all I want to thank everyone who volunteered to get eaten by Spike! The response has been absolutely overwhelming and I love every one of you for giving me the opportunity to make the lives of your characters a little more miserable! The punishments for eventual injuries will be announced on monday (Day 272) so if there's anyone who've changed their minds regarding the level of damage or who just plum forgot to sign up for injury punishments, please do so HERE. I'd also appreciate if you'd let me know so I can sign Spike up for assault!

And now for what's coming next...

As you might've noticed by now, there's been escalating tension between Spike and Jack Harkness for some time now. This recent wave of attacks was part of that escalation and will culminate in a retaliation attack from Jack this week. After that Spike will go lay low in Sector 6 for a little while, mostly so the rest of the playerbase gets a good chance to plot. Quite a few of you are involved by now, either by being a victim or by virtue of being a member of the Defense Force. I highly encourage anyone who wants to get in on this plot to do so! The end game for this plot is planned as a forced besouling, but a lot could still happen along the way... and that's where you come in!

Victims, friends of victims, Defense Force members and everyone else... this is the place for you to plot. Will you report the attacks to the Defense Force? Retaliate on your own? Start an investigation for how to shove a soul in someone's body (which is already sort of underway) or reach for the torches and pitchforks? I am extremely open to ideas here and I'd really love for you to talk amongst yourselves as well!

Just to add to the above, Jack has been spending a LOT of time in the library recently with Ianto (and yes, they have actually been researching, not just getting up to things in the stacks!) and he now feels he's fairly close to being able to shove Spike's soul back into him.

He's mentioned this to Zatanna and hopes she might be able to pull off the spell he's found. She also suggested (a while back) that she might be able to use her magic to restrain Spike if necessary, though obviously that's only a short-term solution. Besouling is the long-term plan.

He's kept Kitty more or less in the loop, but he feels it's his responsibility to take the lead on this, because it's him Spike's really after.

If anybody else would like to have been involved, just let me know and we can say they've talked and are in on the plan. :-)

	I put some thoughts here. Not sure if you have this tracked. I want to say Kitty talked to Zatanna about it a bit too but maybe they talked mostly about Tribbles. heh. ;; Oh, and Sam is always in the library, so totally happy to have him talk with Jack and Ianto about things and stuff whether it's played out or handwaved. I've got it tracked. :-)

I think if we say Jack and Kitty have already talked - before the Spike attacks - about things like Zatanna and Piper and her talk with Veridical about the soul etc. etc. then that'll make things a lot easier.

(Whether he'd tell her about having almost having killed Ianto whilst occupying Spike's body is another matter, of course!)

And I'm thinking once he finds out about the wide range of Spike attacks he'll go straight to Kitty to get the whole DF involved. But he'd be likely to leave that decision actually up to her since he still very much defers to her.

	Do you think they might have talked again since that first day? At the moment, Jack doesn't know she knows Spike/comes from his world, which would be very useful knowledge. Especially since she's the only person here who knew Spike back home! (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Sure! Anya's pretty out and about, so I don't see why they couldn't have run into each other at some point. :3 And/or if Rica's okay with it, Jack could run into Anya and Spike arguing and find out she's from his world that way. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

How about, for the moment, we leave it at just Jack having seen them arguing the night before but not confronting them since he didn't know Spike was on a rampage at that point and there didn't seem to be any attacking going on? I think anything more could get too complicated at this stage, with so much going on!

But then he would know Anya knows Spike and would definitely follow it up with her at a later date and call on her for her knowledge of Spike, magic etc.

FOREVER LATE but RL has swamped me these last two weeks.

So, yes, Zee is actually having a little chat with Spike right now and he knows she's a "witch". So we're seeing where that goes.

As for whether she can pull off the spell...if he can provide all the necessary materials, then it's absolutely possible for her to do it. Maybe with the help of a fellow magic user, where their powers combined etc etc.

No worries, that's great. Perhaps she and Piper could get together on that?

May I assume that she would also have reported whatever does end up happening with Spike in that thread to Jack? So far, he only has Phanan's report, so it would be great if he knew Phanan wasn't the only one. Even if your thread doesn't end up going any further than trading barbs, it would still help Jack to know Spike appears to be after more than one person.

	Someone would probably have to recommend Piper to her, because her first thought would actually be to go to Bonnie, whom she knows a lot better. Absolutely. If not Jack directly, then to Ianto with the assumption it would be passed along. Already, she could say that Spike visibly reacted to the whole "magic" thing, and recgonized her as a potential threat. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I know! I'm not sure how he got out of the house with the bat, actually - whether he just snuck out without telling Ianto (which is possible, but unlikely he'd be able to then hang around till nightfall without talking to Ianto) or whether they had a bit of a fight about it before he left with the bat! I'd like Kitty to be involved! I would love people to be reporting these attacks, but I can't magic her into knowledge of them of course.

She has filed an official IT report on Spike. He's also listed on the watchlist but we could expand that info if it was reported.

WAYS OF REPORTING
1. Characters NOT on the DF can report here or ICly through the game by contacting the DF. (It wouldn't hurt to drop a note on that post so we are aware of the post though!)

2. Characters on the DF can report additional info either to the Investigative thread or the watch list (both linked above.) They can also do so ICly by contacting Kitty, Jack, or Data (DF leaders).

Kitty has had some talks with Piper about reensouling. She's a witch with some related experience. She's also had a talk with Conscienti about it. She wants to protect people and for the moment people include Spike because of who he used to be and the way Buffy didn't kill him. However, she has definitely though killing him might be an answer too. Also, obviously, as a friend of Jack and Ianto's she cares about them and keeping them safe.

Sam has also been kind of involved, knowing that people he knows have had problems with Spike. I feel awkward having two characters involved if they end up in close quarters, but totally happy to have him share research. He has also been in Angel's body now and might have some insight on Spike from this. And obviously as a hunter Sam has fought and killed vampires before (even though at his point in canon they are still considered a rare find due to abundant hunting.) He'd probably be more motivated to kill than reensoul, but I think he'd work with the group as long as it looked like it had a real chance.

Largely to reiterate what Haunt said and to speak up to my own willingness, I am totally 100% up for anyone who wants to report anything to Data and, of course, to involve him in any way in a Defense Force capacity.

Data also has the advantage of being very strong and very much without blood, so if things come to that point, well. He's there.

Meanwhile, Dexter will be watching with a keen interest.

Okay so Karev got attacked, but depending on things and how they go - won't seek hospital treatment. He'll be trying to take care of himself in the clinic, which should be interesting. (And open for anyone there to help out if they want.) That said, he could easily bitch out Spike for biting him.

Rebecca also might be inclined to talk about it to the DF, since her castmate Clay got attacked too.

Sooo, two possible reports on two attacks. I'm sorry if I am incoherent aaawrgh, fridays.

	So, I'm going to toss Piper here at the vampy biting post, which puts her in a position to get a little beat up and chewed on. :D I'm always up for that stuff. Reading up on what's already been posted there, it looks like things are well in hand for trying to get Piper and Zatanna and possibly Anya all to work together on getting something done.
