Hey guys! It's Ally, bringing you one Micah Petrov. He also goes by a shortened version of his middle name, Drew, but only to family. Speaking of family, Micah here has a cousin who is also attending Alden. A cousin he loathes with every fibre of his being. Once upon a time they both loved the same girl, and that girl died which tore them up. Anyway, Micah is a werewolf. He's also a playboy and a thrill seeker. He's a charmer, but can also be pretty manipulative. On the outside, he's the epitome of a gentleman, but on the inside he's pretty rotten. But look how pretty he is! He's got some major tattoos, too. But some of them you have to get him naked to see. *brow waggle*

We have four new characters to the game! Please update your friends list here. Dori is bringing us a new faculty member, Meda, a kitsune. Jenni is bringing us a new student, Takeshi, another kitsune. I have a new character, Micah, a werewolf. And Mark has a new character, Dano, a werelion.

We would like to announce that we are lifting the limit of characters to 5. Not many of you are even close to that, so it's probably not that big of a deal, but Mark and I are happy!

We also have a concern about OTA threads that are going unanswered. I have a thread that has been up since July 15th that hasn't been answered. This is not a "poor me" rant. There have been others who have had OTAs go unanswered so long that they've taken them down. We are happy with the level of activity from most of you, but what concerns us about the unanswered threads is that if it were a new player and their thread went unanswered for over a week, that would be a very poor reflection upon us as a whole. I understand that your characters might not fit into every scenario put up under an OTA, but this is a game that is meant to be played, and not just with the people you are friends with. We are by no means trying to get on anyone's case about this, we just wanted to bring it to your attention in case you were unaware.

Hey, everyone!

Kathryn ((mun of Jia Li leaves_of_ash)) here with an all new character!

Her name is Dhivael ir-Elehu t'Vrenak, and she's an extraterrestrial from the planet ch’Havran in a distant galaxy. She's come to Earth with the intention of studying the humanoids that inhabit it along with their emotions and their cultures. See, the people from her planet don't feel emotions as closely as humans of Earth. They only feel emotions distantly. They pushed emotion on the back burner centuries upon centuries ago in favor of increasing intelligence to what it is today. That's why they're so technologically advanced that they can travel from their planet to Earth.


Anyway, millions of years ago when Neanderthals were still present on Earth, it's believed that a ship containing Dhivael's race of people and their sister races crashed on this planet, so their people have been studying any possible connections between the humanoids of Earth and those of the planet ch'Havran and sister planets. After all, the people of Earth do look a great deal more like her people than Neanderthals. =3

Anyway, yeah. Anticipate many amusingly awkward moments where Dhivael offends without meaning to do so or where she seems incredibly naive on her quest to understand emotions and the strange humanoids of Earth.

Sorry I haven't been active much the past week or so! I've been having some RL problems (which are finally starting to work themselves out). Anyway, I just wanted to drop a line and apologize and also let everyone know I'm leaving for the weekend and I'll be back late Sunday night.

Hey, everyone! This is the official “We’re Back!” for Alden. Misery is now home, and we’re ready to play some more.

I asked Ally, and she said it would be okay to post some pictures from our trip. Misery is only allowing me to post three with him in it, but I have one of me with sparklers though the quality fails. I think Ryan wanted to see the sparklers, or it may have been the fireworks, but I have a few of those, too.

Hey guys. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I might be slower than normal for a little while. I'm having really bad health problems and I'm not sure what is going to happen.

Waiting for test results to come back on Monday or Tuesday before its decided whether I can go to surgery or not. I am going to try to be around because right now playing is the only thing that distracts me from thinking about what is going to happen to me.

I would love to have more plays for Davan. I'm thinking of bringing in another character, not sure yet actually. But yeah, drop me a line on aim!

He’s visiting me during that time, sooo yeah. I’ll try to convince him to allow me to post pictures from our visit, but I can’t really promise anything. =3

Anyway, don’t think that you can't make replies and such until we’re available because we still have a whole day left to make reply posts.

Okay so I thought I would introduce myself since I have never played with anyone here before... At least not to my knowledge. I am easy to contact at AIM witchoutoftime or gmail/gtalk witchoutoftime@gmail.com. I do check my mail pretty often and I am on AIM a lot of the day most days.

So far I have one character in the game, Kaydence Tydler the siren. She is a bit of a air head, and right now is still learning how to handle things on her own, so we will see how she does in that endeavor.

Okay. The group chat happened tonight, and the only people that showed up were Ally ((mod and mun of Britta, Dannika, Isabelle, and Marie)), Matt ((mun of Alissa and Gemma)), Misery ((mun of Desmond and Jack)), and me.

We discussed some future plot points and everything, so it's definitely worth reading the log. I managed to save it successfully this time.

Ally was unable to get to a proper computer, and Mark had to go to bed early, so Ally told me that I could start the group chat. Well, it was already almost an hour late at that point, so there were only a few people.

Jenni ((mun of Davan)), Misery ((mun of Desmond)), Noah ((mun of Anton, Finnbheara, Septimus)), Ryan ((mun of Beth)), and I were the only ones who were online to attend.

Sadly, my Trillian completely screwed up, and every time I tried to copy the log to paste in the OoC, Trillian malfunctioned and closed. Because I told Ryan that I had the log, she closed the log she had and was unable to retrieve it. If Noah or Jenni was able to save a log that can be accessed, I'll edit this post to place that log here, but it's unlikely.

We're all sorry that the log was lost because we did get to know each other a bit. However, nothing important to the game was discussed, so there's no harm done. Also, more people should be present for the chat this coming Tuesday. Misery won't be able to make that one, so if you guys want to discuss something with him, I'm sure he won't mind your contacting him via email.

Okay, so after reviewing everyone's answers to our question about the chat, it looks like Tuesdays and Fridays work best for everyone. We're also split about equally between PST and EST. So here's what I propose:

1. Friday June 18th @ 6pm PST/9pm EST.
2. Tuesday June 22nd @ 6pm PST/9pm EST.

Do either of these days work for any of you?

If we had an AIM room that was constantly open and available for anyone to chat, or if I opened a chat every once in a while and invited the people I saw on my BL would that work or would it just get annoying?

Keep in mind, this chat isn't important or for anything more specific than getting to know each other and possibly discussing things and plot points you might want to accomplish with your characters. If you have growth or development points in mind, this is a good way to figure out who can help you out with them.

Alright. Now that I'm all settled, I figured I should say hi. Some people I already know, and some I don't. My name is Noah, and my AIM is xshiromorix. I'm online most evenings by 8pm EST.

I have three characters in the game. The first is Septimus Cowley who is a witch with a demon in him. He's been a teacher at the school for the last 60 years, and he teaches chemistry, conjuring (summoning), and history of magic.

The second is Finn Ó Domhnaill (Finnbheara) who is another professor who's been around since the school's inception. He teaches English lit., Human Fairy Tales as History, Comparative Mythologies, and Supernatural Influence on Art and Literature, so I know some of the student characters would have him as a teacher. Also, if there's interest by any of the students, he might form a chess club.

The newest character is Anton Kovács who is a Psy/Lin major in Arvandor House. He's a nephilim, but unaware of that fact himself. He works in the campus book store, so anyone needing textbooks can get them from him.

Noah is bringing us a new student character, a Nephilim called Anton.

Geez, sorry for all the mod spamz! This is the last one for today, I promise. Even if I have another one, I'll wait til tomorrow.

We have a good group of players here. Everyone seems to have a good quality to their writing, and everyone seems to be working their way into threads well enough. BUT we also realize that we have two groups here. People who have played in games with Ally and Mark before, and people who haven't. All the people who have played in games with us before sort of know each other, but we don't know any of you newbs!

For this reason, we would like to have a group chat. We would like to get to know everyone a little better and we would also like to take the opportunity for everyone to toss out plot points that might pertain to their character so that threads might be easier to come by. It's always a bummer to throw up an OTA that no one answers, so to avoid things like this, we want to make sure that storylines happen and that everyone gets a chance to play with everyone else.

Please let us know when you would be able to chat with us by listing the following:
1. Best Day of the Week
2. Best Time of Day
3. Your Time Zone

In the interest of keeping f-lists clean, we would like to request that any OOC posts made in personal journals either be put under a cut or backdated so that they don't clutter up our friends lists.

This also pertains to any applications/profiles you may have posted in your character's journal.

This does not apply to IC posts in the character journals, just OOC posts.

Hey everybody! This is Rosie. I had been religiously checking my email ever since I sent off my application, and then go figure I had to work all day once I saw that I'd been accepted. But now that I'm finally home, I can put this up.

This is my character, Raina Maris. She's a mermaid and totally loves it. She's a little self absorbed and tends to get easily distracted by shiny reflective surfaces. I would love lines with everyone! Especially a guy friend she can scope out boys with and some girls she can be friends with. Her bio's in her profile but one thing is she doesn't like vampires or the offspring of. Blood suckers make her queasy.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that since we now have enough players to warrant it, I've created an AIM adding feature to the friend add link. It's an AIM list you can download and then load into AIM. It keeps you from having to add each person one by one. It's handy, mostly for newcomers, but everyone's been added to it along with nicknames, email and the characters played.

Hey guys! I think most of you who have ever played with us have played in games where cell phones and computers were obsolete or not in use. With this game, our characters have access to the internet, email, cell phones, and all sorts of other technology.

Being that we haven't really run a game where all that stuff was used, I probably didn't explain how it works all that well within the context of the game and the journals. Allow me to do that now:

Personal journals, meaning the journals you use to post your characters, are to be used for any network/internet, texting, phone calls, announcements, journal entries, etc. that you want your character to send to another or multiple other characters. For example, if I were to have Britta text Alissa, I would post a thread in Britta's personal journal with the following (and the format is up to you, but there is no need for headers), probably behind a cut: [Text to Alissa] Hey Alissa, how's it going?

From there, Alissa would be able to respond to Britta's text. Characters are also welcome to post their thoughts about certain things, the weather, the elections, etc. wherein other characters would comment unless it was marked private.

Please make sure that your personal threads like this are marked clearly so that someone doesn't mistake a texting conversation with one being done over the network that anyone would be able to read. If anyone is still confused about how this works, please feel free to IM or email me and I'll try to further clarify! Thanks!

I can't tell you all how relieved I am to finally be home. I love Texas, it's beautiful there, but the heat is excruciating and flying standby is too nerve wracking.

But, I'm home. This means I should shortly be catching up on my threads and that I should be able to start new ones.

I have four girls available: Isabelle is my art professor and demon, Britta is my flirtatious and environmentally conscious nymph, Marie is my shy but friendly selkie, and Dannika here is my naive and limber gymnast human.

My name is Kathryn, and I'm twenty years of age though I hit the big twenty-one in November. ^^_^^

Anyway, I've been role playing for about ten years though I don't think I really started getting anywhere near decent until I was eighteen ((I've read old role play posts, so my comparison is valid.))

Anyway, I've been role playing in games of Ally's and of Mark's since I was seventeen, and we get along, so it seemed only natural that they point the way toward this game. ^o_~^


Now to talk about my character.

This is Jia Li Adlar, and she's a twenty-year-old dryad. All of her information can be found in her profile, but I'll let you know a little summary about her now.

She's a sophomore with a major in environmental studies. It seemed only natural considering her connection to her tree and to trees in general.

Anyway, she has a bit of trouble trusting people as an ex-boyfriend of hers went psycho and tried to burn her tree to ash ((I know... bad pun considering her tree species is the white ash...)) when she was sixteen. However, she still likes to be social. After all, you don't have to fully trust someone to speak with them or become their acquaintance. Also, just because it takes time to earn her trust, it doesn't mean it's impossible.

She's currently enrolled for the fall term, but I think it makes sense for her to take a summer class to actually have her at Alden. Otherwise, I would have no reason to have her there until this fall since this is played in real time. Of course... I could just have her there to practice dancing and such since she's a part of the women's dance team in her house ((Kemen)).

For potential plot lines, Jia should probably have a few friends she met last year if that's possible, and making new friends is always fun.

She also needs a dorm mate because she doesn't have one. ^^_^^

If anyone can think of any other lines they'd like to have with her that I haven't mentioned, I'm totally open to hearing about it and possibly playing with it.

They sort of frown on me not introducing myself because uhm, it makes me seem unsociable. So, anyway, I'm Misery, I'm far too old and unfortunately not getting younger, I've been rping for like... 15 years or something horrific. I've played more or less everything once already, as 15 years is a hella long time, so this isn't my first trip around the race track, obviously...

Anyway, Des is a dhampir, and a somewhat quiet one at that, so I'll probably be looking for people to collaborate with to force social interaction on him, because, well, I just love to torture my characters like that.
