Community Crimes

With all the news about the New Dietrich Slayer, it's hard to believe that anything else horrifying or bizarre could occur within our fair city, but this morning a gruesome and horrible scene was discovered at the Family Fun Farm just outside the metropolitan area.

For those not familiar, the Family Fun Farm is a traditional working farm that has been set up for childhood education purposes, and has an open milking barn, a silo, running tractors, a slaughterhouse and many other areas where schools can bring kids on field trips to learn about where their food and items originate. It has been a popular destination for children and adults alike for many years. What was once seen as just a spot for teachers and students has become a regular weekend destination for moms and pops to pack their families away to.

The Family Fun Farm also boasts a large petting zoo, which is where the tale of tragedy is told today. It seems that sometime during the night, vandals broke in and slaughtered all the little sheeps and piggies within. No animal was left whole. Police are unable to determine if there are any whole animals to be found at all, and have called in a veterinarian to help them verify.

Roscoe Davids Junior, son of the man who started the Family Fun Farm, has offered a reward of one hundred dollars to anybody who can help solve this mystery.

Local Private Investigator Found Dead

(this blurb buried inside the 'local news' section)

Private Investigator Frank Rake was found dead in a dumpster outside May's Diner. While he was working on the New Dietrich Slayer case, authorities believe that the death was unrelated because Frank was shot to death whereas the Slayer has always used a knife for his victims.

Authorities declined to comment on whether they have any suspects. There are rumors that the investigator in charge is currently questioning Mr. Rake's former clients in an attempt to turn up a list of suspects. He leaves behind two newly acquired employees and no family.

Headline of the Day: Bancroft and Field Murders Connected?

Authorities today are investigating whether or not the murders of Audrey Bancroft and Lacey Field could be connected. Both women were young, beautiful, and had everything left to live for. Both were found within blocks of each other. Both bodies were mutilated in ways that we will avoid describing to keep from offending the sensibilities of our more delicate readers.

With two more disappearances reported recently, both women in the same age range, authorities can't help but wonder if these crimes are connected. It's too soon to tell yet if New Dietrich has become home to a serial killer. If so, one can only hope that our heroic boys in blue will catch him before the death toll rises any higher.

Police Chief Grant refused to comment on whether or not the police department had contracted with a private eye on this matter, though it would seem that this case has just gained top priority in the department.

More details will be reported as they become available. In the meantime, Chief Grant urges all young women to "Play it safe and stay inside after dark unless accompanied by a gentleman."
