| About: |  About Us: Kobol's Legacies is a RPG (role-playing game) and character fiction community based on the new Battlestar Galactica universe. An alternative universe with original characters. The time line begins three years after the Fall of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. A large fleet of refugees protected by a Battlestar Strike Group were able to flee the Colonies after initial months of war fighting, a futile attempt to preserve what was left of their worlds. Now their objective is to survive and get far enough from the Cylon threat to find a new home. Our community was originally created in February 2006 on Greatest Journal with a continuous story line that had been successfully collaborated between our writers. On December 18, 2007 we moved the community to InsaneJournal after technical problems out of our control occurred on Greatest Journal. This new opportunity allowed us to adjust the main theme of the community and make it entirely based on original characters without the restrictions of trying to stay true to canon characters and themes. Many of the original characters from our GJ universe were able to transfer to our new IJ universe, as if IJ was an alternative/parallel universe where the survival of the Galactica is unknown , including the discovery of Kobol, the re-union with the Pegasus, the settlement of New Caprica, all these are unknown to our characters (with the exception of the Cylons of course). Our format consist of solo character and character interaction scenes that are posted on our in-character community. The majority of our writers collaborate scenes using Google Docs or AIM/YIM. Threaded comment scenes are occasionally used from time to time. Since our story is orientated with mature themes, we only allow writers who are 18 years of age and older to join the community.
