"I love my little cherry ball, better'n I love myself," Rodeo crooned carelessly as he strolled through the city streets, as if he wanted to attract the dead to him. He had his gun drawn in his hand, finger always resting on the trigger, and he felt that was precaution enough. Brazen and incautious, he didn't even bother to stifle his footfalls against the cement of the sidewalk, or the crunching glass under his heel that littered it. "You know, what it take to get her back, I carry it every day..."
With his bulletproof vest on under his clothes, Rodeo was prepared for the chance that he might encounter something besides the infected during his travels, but that day he wasn't expecting to. He was searching for the sort of thing that not many people had a use for these days anymore, and he didn't expect to have any issues with territorial survivors in the destinations he was headed into. He was using a couple pages torn from a phone book to help him find them, or else he was sure he'd wind up wandering the city for years.
Across the street, he spotted a broken-down auto repair shop-- one of his planned stops. He saw movement in the alley beside it, but he figured it was a shuffler and ignored it. The door to the shop was chained shut, but Rodeo easily gained entry through a shattered window instead. The place had been visited by someone else at some point, but it seemed mostly untouched. Still, Rodeo didn't dare put his gun down as he began his search, going through stores of parts and tools using one hand only. He filled his duffel bag with what he needed, then slung it back over his shoulder and headed out the way he came, glancing down at the torn pages in his hand. Only a couple more stops left, and so far it'd been a relaxingly uneventful supply hunt.
