FAQ
1) Q: Who can post polls to hp_polls?
A: All members of hp_polls and non-members can post polls, except for free patients, who may post poll requests.
2) Q: May I link to the poll I posted in my own journal?
A: Of course. You may link to any poll in your journal but make sure it's a public entry, Who can view this poll? ALL, Who can vote in this poll? ALL
3) Q: Can I post polls about other fandoms, not Harry Potter?
A: No. But you may post polls about general writing, reading or editing.
4) Q: How do I post a poll request?
A: Like a regular entry. Use this format: Poll Request Format
5) Q: Who will grant my poll request?
A: Any hp_polls member able to post polls may do that. The hp_polls maintainer will look through un-fulfilled poll requests regularly and post polls for you also.
6) Q: I want to grant a poll request. How do I go about it?
A: To prevent multiple postings of the same cool poll, you must check the poll request comments to see if someone has already committed to posting this poll.
If no one committed to fulfill the poll request, post "I will do it" type of comment in the poll request you wish to grant.
Now go ahead and fulfill that poll request. Make sure to mention who this poll is for somewhere on top.
7) Q: My poll request was granted. Now what?
A: Thank the person who's done it for you :)
And remove your poll request ASAP, as soon as your poll is posted. The maintainer will get pissy if there are old fulfilled requests clattering the board.
8) Q: May I have a picture poll?
A: No. No pictures, text only.
9) Q: I have never posted a poll before.
A: You won't be able to do that if you are a free patient.
Free patients need to upgrade their accounts or to post a poll request to hp_polls.

10) Q: Do all poll requests get granted?
A: Pretty much. Except for totally insane ones. We are trying to keep insanity in this asylum at the manageable level.
11) Q: Can my poll get deleted for no reason?
A: The maintainer can delete any poll and ban any user. No hate or troll polls of any sort will be tolerated.
12) Q: Should I use lj-cuts for all polls?
A: For the multiple question polls. If you are posting a basic one question-three answers poll or a link to the poll in your journal then don't lj-cut.
13) Q: Crap! I voted wrong! Can I change my vote?
A: Usually yes. Go to the TEST POLL to learn how and to practice with all types of polls.
