Het Challenge

Good morning!

I expect to get the first round of IJ HC running this weekend, in tandem with the new round that will also be starting at livejournal. This round, as a sort of simple means of getting started, will be a cliche-fest, where participants claim prompts from a list of fandom cliches to use with their favorite pairings. Participants then write/draw something involving the cliche, whether they plan to turn it on its head, subvert it, or just play it straight and have a good time. This round will run through October 15, and then there'll probably be a break for NaNoWriMo, with another round -- probably in a different format -- starting in the winter.

I have a list of about 40 fandom cliches so far, trying not to repeat any one idea too much and trying to make each item flexible enough to fit a variety of pairings/fandoms; if you have any that you badly want to see on the list, drop a comment here and I'll make sure they (or some variant of them) make the list.

I'm also looking for input on the userinterests for this comm asylum. I've added a handful of fandoms to our interests already, most of them based on the active fandoms in the LJ-mirror of the challenge. If you write or draw m/f in other fandoms that you think should make the list, please mention them in comments here! I'd love to see more variety, and more people feeling welcome to play in future rounds. ♥
