UHM, HI. Manx here, bringing in the last piece of Morales/Tran/Morales-Tran Voltron. Essie is kind of a terror where Diego and Mina are concerned, but everyone else should be safe as long as they don't refer to her as Mina and Diego's baby sister. She's nuts about art and artificing and likes to bridge the two to make artsy magical toys. Her area of the cabin is frequently making chirps and other disruptive sounds that she has to be reminded to turn off. (Frankie and Regan are totally welcome to paint her area of the walls.)

Let's see... some profile highlights!
+ The blonde hair is definitely new this year. Last year she was kind of mousy looking.
+ Her extracurriculars are Archery, Duelling & Fencing, Equestrian, and Outdoor Education, but she'll jump into any activity that seems fun at the time. She doesn't care about being 'good' at much of anything as long as she's having fun.
+ She was part of Azurcrest's cheer squad last year, but didn't try out this year because she needs ~space~ from Diego.
+ This is a 180 from last year when she basically was Diego's shadow everywhere because he is was the COOLEST BIG BROTHER EVER.
+ Okay, so Diego (and Mina) didn't actually do anything wrong other than existing. Near the end of the year, Essie got up the nerve to tell a boy in their year about her serious crush on him and he ~~BRUTALLY REJECTED HER~~ kindly let her down, but the rejection definitely included the words "Mina and Diego's baby sister" so the world basically ended right then.
+ This year Essie is interested in BOYS and PARTIES and anything else she thinks Mina and Diego would disapprove of. (Getting a detention would be like a badge of honor at this point.)

[7th year boy plotline opening!!] Soooo, if there are any 7th year boys out there whose main objection to dating Essie would be her little sister status, this is your big chance to get in on some of that sweet, sweet Morales/Tran/Morales-Tran dysfunction. I'm open to anyone, but preferably someone who is relatively nice and doesn't mind ladyparts. Essie is being very MISUNDERSTOOD TEENAGER about the whole thing, so she hasn't told Mina and Diego the specifics, but the boy in question may have talked to Mina and/or Diego about it. [Still looking!!]

UHM. So I really, really love the sophomores so HEY SOPHOMORES COME BE MY FRIEND. Or enemy. I guess. But you'll break my heart. 😢

I've been a complete delinquent when it comes to responding to intro posts so I will try to finally catch up on those, but feel free to also grab me about Ursula on this post. (I can probably take on like one or two logs right now if anyone wants something.) UHM YEAH. I think that's it for now. This was supposed to be short. ;;;;;;;;;

Sad to say I can't offer either of mine for Essie's drama (since Casper is mean and Cecil is gay), but still yay for new characters!

Cecil almost certainly treats Essie like a little sister, because she's a sophomore, an Azurcrest, and the lil' sis of a good friend. He's sad that she didn't go out for cheer this year and a little surprised by how much she's changed, but won't give her a hard time or press her about either, and is generally fond of her upbeat, imaginative self. He's also in Outdoor Exploration with her.

Casper probably gives Essie the eye-rolling that he gives pretty much all the happy-go-lucky types he doesn't understand, but likely doesn't have much issue with her. There's not much overlap between the two, apart from Dueling/Fencing, where he's more interested in the former and she's more interested in the latter. But I'm always up for random encounters if we ever want to try them~

CECIL. Essie wants you to know that you can relocate Diego's "World's Best Big Brother" mug from Diego's desk to your own. Cecil is categorized in Essie's mind as belonging to Diego though, so she is probably a leeeeeettle distant compared to last year. But Cecil IS awesome so maybe they can share, maybe.

CASPER. I did not mention it in the above, but Essie does play trumpet and can be found in the music room from time to time when it strikes her fancy, SO, they may cross paths that way! Buuuuut, she is definitely up to all sorts of eye-rolly antics despite the fact she is So Very Grownup now.

~~BABY~~ SISTER. ♥

Diego is ALREADY SUFFERING now that Essie is pulling away from him. :'((((((((( He's afraid she just realized he's a boring, fake person, and unless someone has told him, he hasn't realized at all what the actual problem is. He just knows Essie wants a lot less of him around, and HE'S NOT TAKING IT WELL. (Oh! Also, Diego has definitely tried to hide from Essie that he cheated on Tabitha. He's really ashamed and doesn't want his little sister getting involved in that. :x He bribed Mina to not tell their family about it over the summer by no longer practicing his music indoors, lol.)

Calvin was Not Nice to Essie (...or anyone) last year, but THINGS HAVE CHANGED, and now he's friends with both Frankie and Regan soooo he might be friends with Estella too? HE TOTALLY SYMPATHIZES WITH WANTING THOSE OLDER BOYS. We're ADULTS NOW, Estella. He grew like three inches over the summer and you dyed your hair THINGS ARE GOING TO BE DIFFERENT.

Reid is in archery with Essie, and he and Mina have fake dated in the past. He definitely sees her as Mina's little sister, but if Essie has firmly corrected him, he'll start calling her Estella and try and cut out the little kid stuff.

DIEGO. Essie isn't being openly mean to Diego, but she has totally been really obviously like "OH DIEGO'S HERE, I GUESS I'LL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE". (I am so sorry Diego~~, except not really because I'm awful?~~). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't THIIIINK there was a big announcement about Diego and Tabitha and I don't think Diego's love life has ever interested Essie much, SO, I think he has dodged a bullet on that one so far. (OTOH, I am v sure Essie took great joy in yelling "Moooom, Mina's trying to poison me~" all summer.)

CALVIN. UHM YES, we are so very adult now, Calvin. We have boys to kiss and sweet sixteen parties to fantasize about and why can't those 7th years just understand?! ESTELLA is so up for things to be ~different~ this year and go to parties and maybe even throw parties where only the Coolest People are invited and that never includes certain older siblings.

REID. Essie demands you teach her how to parkour. Because really. That's awesome so she has to know how.

Also, Ursula wants to know ALL ABOUT this fake dating thing.

Diego is so insecure with a horrible mix of empathetic and bad at interpreting people that he just can't avoid getting himself worked up over this. Regardless, he'll always be there if Essie needs him. And sometimes when she doesn't. And yeah, Diego has avoided telling anyone. I think the only people he directly told might be... Cecil, Etta and Levi? THE FEWER PEOPLE WHO KNOW, THE BETTER. Essie is definitely the person he doesn't want to know most, though. :(

Yes, definitely parties! And older boys!!! And kissing!!! This year they are going to get this, and he totally supports and validates all of her feelings about her older siblings. Calvin's older brothers weren't protective so much as mean bullies who stepped all over him and were not super supportive about like. Anything. Ever. BUT. Estella you are so totally right, Diego is SMOTHERING, and you need SPACE.

YEAH SURE Reid sees nothing wrong with teaching other students how to climb things not meant for climbing. (Sorry student authority.)

DIEGO. Aw man Diego. Here you fucked up and that's not even the thing Essie is upset about. Deep under all that teenage rebellion, Diego totally still holds the BEST BIG BROTHER EVER title, but if she did find out about the cheating mess she would be super upset for reals with him. :(

CALVIN. Yes, please keep calling her Estella and validating her teenage rebellion. 😘 Essie will totally commiserate about awful older siblings (except probably start to feel guilty if Calvin talks about his being bullies since hers aren't ACTUALLY that bad but don't tell them that). Essie is totally up for aiding Calvin on his mission to woo sweet, sweet Ravi if Calvin lets her in on that. OR ANY OLDER BOYS. They are kind of interchangable to Essie, but shhhh.

REID. HIGH FIVE. Also I just remembered he has a rumored criminal record which SIGH would have made him the perfect boy for upsetting older siblings with except OMG MINA'S EX???? He isn't hiding a motorcycle somewhere, is he???

Ugh if/when she finds out he's going to have a really sincere sit down with Essie and apologize and explain things. I think out of anyone, she could get the most straight answers out of him about why he did it, but HE THINKS SHE WOULD LIVE A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE NEVER KNOWING.

Calvin will help Estella too, and together, all of these ~~ridiculous children~~ MATURE ADULTS will get the seniors of their dreams!!! Ravi is a dream boat but Levi is definitely rising in the ranks~ They are going to ATTEND PARTIES. And maybe GET DRUNK.

LMFAO I'M SORRY ESSIE. Sadly, Reid's dirt poor. He has a sweet bus pass though.

DIEGO. Um, yeah, you really fucked up and Essie would definitely want to understand why. She certainly doesn't understand how much of her own behaviour exacerbates Diego's long established insecurities, but she obv does have some general idea of his relationship with Not-Ofelia Mom. (Who shares a similar 'bad' label with Essie's Dad, even though I doubt they have ever met.)

CALVIN. Essie is not so sure about that Levi thing, but as long as you don't start cooing about how cute Diego is, mission is still totally on. OMG the first time Essie has beer she is going to be SO CONFUSED about why everyone keeps drinking it because it's so gross omg. BUT IF BEER IS THE GATEWAY TO SENIOR BOYS, THEN SO BE IT. (She def begrudgingly missed the first Grotto party this year since it was DIEGO'S PARTY.)

REID. They take a magical bus for the fifty feet it takes to get to school. :( What about tattoos??

Mina and Reid went to prom together last year and he got all cleaned up and looked very handsome so she should take prom photos to send them back to her muggle friends in Canada as evidence of her Hot Boyfriend. They've made out from time to time and I think have both come away from the experience deciding it was okay. From the outside it would maybe seem like they were kind of an item last year even though neither of them seemed that into it???

IT WAS A RELATIONSHIP BORN OF CONVENIENCE. Neither of them were actually that into one another, but Mina has a hard time with people and Reid is impossible to get unless a girl (or boy) wants to pursue him aggressively. After Mina decided she wasn't into it they just... stopped. Which probably was pretty soon after prom? (URSULA WILL NEED TO ASK MINA FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE OF REID'S HUMANITY.)

	Essie will forgive anyone who doesn't realize that Diego is a giant life ruiner and still wants to be friends with him as long as they treat her like her own person this year, SO, Addy should be fine and A+ and also Addy has a boyfriend and Essie wants a boyfriend so Addy is automatically a cool older girl in Essie's book. They're in the same position of being the baby of the family. Though Frank doesn't quite mind being Tess' little sister. (But then, Frank also doesn't know that Tess threatens to beat people up over her general safety. She'd probably be less than thrilled about that. Team Screw That Particular Noise all the way, Essie.) But she totally understands Essie wanting to be herself.

Um, Essie had a minor speech impediment for several years (it's gone by now) so I think she secretly hated Frankie for like a week until she realized Frankie honestly couldn't hear her and any communication issues had nothing to do with how Essie talked. BUT now she thinks Frankie is awesome and if Frankie ever wants Essie to try building one of her drawings, Essie is so up for that. Otherwise she'll just have to deal with the fact that nothing of Essie's actually manages to stay in her designated area.

Overprotective siblings are the worst. IT'S NOT LIKE FRANKIE EVER FELL OUT OF A TREE OR ANYTHING GOSH WHAT IS THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN.

Oh, Frank would've blinked in paranoid terror and ran off to whine at her sister. (Because she was CLEARLY TERRIBLE at being at real school. EVERYONE HATES HER.) But then Essie would have been dragged into random ASL-time classes. So that they can effectively call people weird or tell each other that the answer to number 5 is b from across the room. And things not staying in their places is fine. She loves all the tinkertoys.

Seriously. AND SHE GOT BETTER. MOSTLY. ISH. ... sort of.

Trixie loves the hell out of making magical things so they'd at the least have that to talk about and try to make things not explode together.

Katya is Azurcrest and basically friends of everyone because she's too sweet not to be and is also in Archery but Katya is really really bad at it.

Ferris is being a very misunderstood I know everything because I am so better than everyone Sophomore and will maybe at least try to get Essie to get a few detentions because Ferris is already on that train to detentionville.

VEE. I imagine they are friendly from last year being both cheerleaders and in Diego's social sphere. She is probably separate enough from Diego that she hasn't been flagged as ~Diego's~ so she isn't getting any weird TEENAGER AVOIDANCE from Essie so they can be friendly in their shared clubs!!

ANA. Ahhh, she is one of the newbies that I know I missed commenting on with Ursula. Not that there is probably much to say re: Ursula. Though I see she is from LA, was she a Port Prepper? ANYWAY. ESSIE AND ANA. Uhm, YES. Totally up for friends!!! Essie wants to be JUST BAD ENOUGH this year but is mostly just like YEAH THAT SOUNDS FUN AND LET'S NOT THINK ABOUT ANY CONSEQUENCES. It looks like they have a decent amount of class/club overlap too!!

SO!! Levi is a Senior Azurcrest and BEST BUDS with Diego (and is also in his band). Levi, without a doubt, ~Belongs To Diego~ even more than Cecil does.

I think Levi would playfully flirt with her, though. I mean, he flirts with everyone but she's Diego's lil sister so of course he has to tease her. But still, he's officially and vocally out as gay even though he's CONSTANTLY HITTING ON GIRLS so he couldn't fill that 7th year role.

Then I have Magdalen

fensterln who's an Ebonhide Senior and the Head Girl. She's in archery and duelling with Estella, and is probably a lil worried about her Rebellious Teen Phase. BUT! She's also the girl people accused Mina of poisoning last year (Mina didn't do anything, but w/e) so how would Essie feel about that?

LEVI. Yes, Levi is definitely flagged as being ~Diego's~ and she is super NOT AMUSED about the lil sister teasing flirting. But she doesn't think he is a walking plague carrier, so I guess points to him for that????

Also, since it's Levi, I feel obligated to leave you a gif.

MAGDALEN. Essie does not ACTUALLY think Mina tried to poison Maggie but it still brings her great delight to bring it up whenever possible. I think Essie kind of loves that Maggie is Crafty Pinterest Mom and Essie super looks forward to any monthly bonding activities where Maggie is involved since there are possibilities of GLUE and GLITTER and all of that. Can she trade in Mina for Maggie?? Why are the Heads so much cooler than her real ~~parents~~ siblings???

She mostly wants to flirt with Diego for TWO MAIN REASONS: 1. she wants to flirt with literally everyone who walks the earth and 2. Diego thinking of her as a little-sister-by-extension makes her feel SOME KINDA WAY.

	Hi Manx! I have Tabitha, Dominic, and I just introduced William. Tabitha would have been an opposing cheerleader last year, and she adores a lot of Azurcrests (especially Levi and Cecil). Dominic doesn't really have any links, I don't think, apart from the fact he recently made out with her cabin mate XD William is a house and year mate, so there is that! (Reply to this)

So Pippa and Essie are obviously SUPER GOOD FRIENDS what with their quest to SNARE A BOYFRIEND alsdkfj I am looking forward to this so much, you have no idea. Pippa is a follower, and she's very easily led, so if Essie suggests something you can bet Pippa will be right there behind her no matter how terrible an idea it is. (Now I have this image of them in detention together after some hare-brained scheme and Essie's all "SWEET I'm totally hardcore" and Pippa is like "OH MY GOD now I have a reputation as a troublemaker, this is a disaster.") Hilariously, Pippa didn't even get the memo about the back to school party, so she definitely needs a friend like Essie to help her let her hair down!

Henrietta is raising an eyebrow at the thought of belonging to anyone, let alone Diego, BUT obviously they're good friends (with occasional benefits... I APOLOGISE IN ADVANCE IF ESSIE SEES THEM FLIRTING OVER THE JOURNALS) so I guess Essie will be more distant with her this year? BUT Etta could totally play the role of ~cool big sister~ (sorry Mina) and answer all of Essie's questions about sex and boys (sorry Diego) so there's that maybe?? And of course they're in Archery and Outdoor Education together. Etta thinks Essie is TOO CUTE but will try and treat her like a grown up because she totally gets what it's like to be fifteen.
