Since when do you make icons? August 2006, although the majority was made this year.

Likes: "simple" icons that aren't overladen with textures/brushes/..., threesomes, Doctor/Rose, Doctor/Jack, Jack/everyone, Harry/various, Beckett/Sheppard, to find amusing pairings while making icons even if I wouldn't read/write them, experimenting, George/Mason
Dislikes: people who want things handed on a plate to them (especially since I'm tempted to ask for just that on occasion), Harry/Ginny, Harry/Cho, Harry/Ron, intolerant people, people who simply say something is bad without telling which part is bad or giving constructive feedback

Since when do you make icons? Ooh. I don't remember. I think I started back in 2004 or something (maybe it was 2005...I'm really not sure).
(Current) favourite method/tool: I don't have a favorite, not really. I do like the software that I use (Microsoft Picture It!) because it's really simple--though that does limit what I can do. I am, however, fond of black and white stuff.

Since when do you make icons? Probably 2006, but they were... not good! I started to get into it last summer.
(Current) favourite method/tool: PhotoSop Elements 6 -- using hue saturation and tweaking levels. I'm starting to try Paint Shop Pro Photo X2, and I use Corel WinDVD 9 for screencaps.
Active Fandoms: Doctor Who, Nip?Tuck, Heroes.
Likes: Original characters, Doctor/Rose, Doctor/Rose/Jack, Christopher Eccleston, Josh Lucas, Reese Witherspoon (all as actors, not RPF); making stock icons, especially of animals, traveling.
Dislikes: People who take icons without credit when the maker requests it. Most of my icons are credit optional, and I think I'm more upset about it when it happens to a friend than if it happens to me. Also, cream of wheat -- HATE it. Pitch Black, which used to be a like.

* I still have a lot to learn about iconning, and like critiques! I have Graves' disease, which affects my vision, and as you can guess, can make working with images challenging.

Since when do you make icons? Kind of a complicated answer. I'd say 2006ish for the most recent. I started back in 2000/2001 when I was 14/15, but went without a computer for five years in between then and now.
(Current) favourite method/tool: I have a program called The Gimp. It's a free download program, somewhat akin to Photoshop and PSP, I guess.
Active Fandoms: Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Holly Black/Faeries, David Tennant, Christopher Eccleston, and any actor from HP and DW fandoms :D
Likes: Icon wise, I like lighter shaded icons. Pretty colors. And red heads. Real life wise, my fandoms speak for it, I think.
Dislikes: My little brother :D

Likes: Icon wise, I am a huge fan of textless icons. Most of mine are textless. Fandom. And living. Also eating and sleeping (you know the usual stuff)
Dislikes: In terms of Icons? Eye searing colors. I love the selective coloring just as much as the next guy, but let's not abuse it okay? Also thunderstorms and spiders. And the dark.
