WHO: Veda Patel, Ian Gorman, and an appearance by NPC Nate Solverson.
WHEN: Backdated to the end of September or so.
WHERE: Ian's house.
SUMMARY: Veda and Nate visit Ian and his dogs (BINGO PROMPT: ALL DIALOGUE).
WARNINGS: None.
STATUS: Complete.
“Thank you again for letting us visit. I promise that I checked Nate’s pockets before we left and made sure they were free of crackers or slices of bread.” “WOOF!” “Settle down, Sass. You remember Nate and Veda. You guys are welcome here any time. Sass still has too much energy for how old he is. And Xanga loves kids.” “Nate, maybe the dogs would like to play fetch or something outside?” [ … ] “I’ve been thinking about getting him a dog for Christmas, actually.” “You’re a very smart women so I’m sure you know that it will actually be your dog?” “Yes, I know. But I’m hoping that since he seems so into animals lately, that he’ll be happy to help out when I ask.” “Keep your fingers crossed. Should I be training him to become a vet?” “He’d probably love learning all about animals from you. I have no doubt he’ll take you up on your offer of coming over any time and probably be over here every other day.” “I will do everything I can to convince him to be a vet. What kind of dog are you looking into?” “I’m not sure yet. Do you have any suggestions?” “People are more concerned when they have really young kids about aggressive ones and the like. But allergies can always be a concern. How much they shed. Depends on what your concerns are.” “Hmm, okay. I’ll do some research then.” “If you want, I can help you narrow down your list.” “That would be wonderful, Ian, thank you. I’ll talk it over with Marty too and see if he has any suggestions as well.” “No problem.” [...] “Are your classes going well?” “They are! I was a little concerned about the dance class at first, but it’s turning out to be a lot of fun. How are yours?” “Average. I can already tell which of my freshman are actually interested in pursuing veterinarian careers. Which is good. But the others tend to slack and make the class drag a little bit.” “Ah, yeah. That’s always frustrating. I have a few of those in my history classes too.” “It is what it is, you know? Better than having someone who hate you and or your class, right?” “I suppose that’s true. I’m hoping to avoid that. You’re not speaking from experience, are you? I can’t imagine anyone hating you or your class.” “There have been a couple who realized they couldn’t take the dissection stuff [...] but that was only the first year. After that I put a big emphasis that that is a very important part of this career track. Those types usually drop before the deadline now.” “Oh, I see. I suppose that’s understandable, to not quite know how you’d handle something like that until you actually do it. Luckily in my classes, people know well ahead of time whether they enjoy discussing and exploring history or not.” “That’s how it goes, I guess.” “Yes, I guess so. I — Nate!” [...] “I swear I checked all of his pockets.” “[...] At least it’s just bread. You little rascal.” |
