Okay, these have been a while coming, b.c of RL and funeral and all sorts of wackiness and I'm only just beginning to feel like I'm back in control of life again. So here we go, the as promised (ages ago):

Supernatural fic recs.

I should warn you all before you click the cut, that most, if not all of these are Wincest. I find myself ridiculously enamoured of that ship. It's rare that incest-fic will interest me, in fact I can only think of two other pairings in the many years of fandom I've been in that have grabbed me and one of those I co-wrote a lot of with our lovely mythicdove. :D FaraBoro FTW, says I. :D Anyhoo, the recs below are a variety of ratings and genres, most of them plotty, long fics, some of them PWPs, but all of them fics that I've bookmarked and reread and loved. Hope you guys enjoy them too!

Here is an update of on some of the interesting new communities or events on IJ that are fandom related.


These are just some places I found that I have joined or looked interesting. If you see anything out there that looks like it could be of interest, please feel free to post it to the community. The members here are from all different fandoms, you never know who may be around :)


I've really been getting into Harry Potter of late. These are a few communities I found that I have been enjoying:

bellatrix100 - very new, great for Bella fans
malfoy100 - Malfoy prompts
hp_prompts - All of HP and some great ficlets so far!
hpicons - great place to find and share icons
malfoycentric - lots of great stuff coming through here!


I haven't seen any Xena communities yet. If anyone runs across one, let me know.

Wonderful new community if you love to write. 50episodes I just signed up the other day. It's a prompt community and panfandom, however you don't need to write a full fic. This is for unfinished scenes and ficlets. If you are like me and stuck with lots of plot bunnies, it's a great way to get them out of your head and see what happens.

Over on my IJ, I made some icons and wallpapers for Lucius, Bella, Xena and Sean Bean, wrote a Lucius/Narcissa response to BBtPC and did several ficlets.

Speaking of bbtp_challenge, it was a huge event! Lots of people participated, and check out the results when you can. Based on the response, there is a new challenge that has been set up: ides_of_march for March 2008.

Now, quite a few people watch the New Who these days. To be thorough, I'll give just a bit of background here and tell you that I'm going to start by recommending three authors, not just stories, as I have yet to see anything of bad quality coming from them.

Tegan Jovanka was played by Janet Fielding, 1981-1984. She was an Australian air-hostess, short and fiesty. The Fifth Doctor was played by Peter Davison, 1981-1984. He was, and still is, the youngest actor to take the role of the Doctor in Doctor Who, Tennant included. This was 'my' TARDIS bunch and, for all intents of purpose, still is.


Now for three authors that I would recommend are:

Kalima

She consistently writes great stories with excellent characterization and great flow.

LilacFree

A wonderful author and a great person, LilacFree writes hot smut and great characterization. I highly recommend her stories.

Mouth on Legs

Not only taking Tegan's nickname, she has a bit of her spunk. Mouth on Legs is and will always be one of my favorite authors.

I've been busy, hahaha. Mainly because I read a few new fics and bookmarked them, then felt the need to share the love. Again, a combination of slash, het and gen behind the cut - I'm an equal opportunity reader even if I have problems writing the het myself. :D Enjoy!

When I suggested to mythicdove that we put together rec lists for dimensions, I'd already started compiling mine for the Harry Potter fandom. I have to preface this by saying I'm just now exploring this fandom, and Draco/Harry was my first introduction. I've since read some other pairings, and a few are included here, but I don't feel qualified yet to rec others more extensively. So please, if anybody else wants to take on this task, please do -- I need more to read!

I also should warn you that I like long plotty stories ... no PWP here.

How do you all feel about claiming a pairing (or two) from your fandom of choice and doing a recs list of your favorite fan fic or art? This could be a great chance to introduce people to a new fandom -- or remind old fans of why they love this fandom.

Could be any fandom, and pairing, het, gen or slash. All pairings. Have at it! Anyone up for it?

I figured we could work it like this: Pick a pairing or two that you like, and comment. Do your rec list when you have time. When you are done, the pairing opens back up and someone else can claim if they want it next?

I can do some Jack/Daniel from SG-1, as lilithilien was curious about them.

I spoke with warinbabylon over dinner tonight, and she said she'd be happy to do some 5Doc/Tegan recs from Dr Who. That leaves lots of Dr Who pairings open.

lilithilien you wanted to do McShep and Harry/Draco to start off right? Does anybody want to do any other HP or SGA pairings?
