WARBLER AUDITIONS ANNOUNCEMENT / SIGN UP POST!
The auditions for the SEVEN open spots on the Dalton Warblers will take place on the 17th and 18th September, though the audition post will be published in advance and foredated so that everyone has enough time to post.
Assume this sign-up sheet hangs on the door of the auditorium. If your character wants to audition, they are required to sign up in advance. That is what this post is for.
General Rules:
Everyone will get 10 minutes in which they are to perform a song and answer any questions the Warblers may have of them. Any Warbler may (and should) ask questions, but Raf will frown at you and possibly boot you out if you are asking stupid questions. Warbler auditioning is a solemn tradition here at Dalton. It is not something to mock or take lightly!
You may audition even if you already have a Warbler character, but only players without a Warbler character will actually be considered for the part. I'll add audition slots each day until no more are needed. If people playing Warblers could attempt to get online at some point this weekend to discuss who should join, that would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you want to argue your character meta-gamingly, you should try to get online this weekend as well. If you play a Warbler character, remember these are supposed to be the school elite and are expected to be active and visible.
Now, audition process. FIRST, claim your time in a comment on this post, and make sure no one else has taken it. Earliest-posted comment with a time slot gets that time. You do not need to wait for a moderator to accept your claim.
Once you've posted your claim and no one above you has that time, you can head over to the audition post and make your comment in the timeslot. Bring your character onto the stage, have him introduce himself and his song, and then provide a link so we can listen to the song. It's your choice if you wish to include lyrics, or have your character actually sing them/change them/whatever. Feel free to give as much detail as you'd like.
After your initial comment, any Warbler may reply with questions. We'll try to do this one at a time--if a question is waiting for a response, don't ask another question unless you are specifically interrupting the first Warbler/not waiting for the answer. Every audition slot should only have one smooth thread from it.
When questions are done, your character will be dismissed from the auditorium and Warbler characters may remain in the slot thread to discuss among themselves if they wish.
Non-auditioning/non-Warbler audience members are only allowed if they have come to support a friend and are not auditioning themselves.
