Sleepless Night

Characters: Isabella Barbary, Open
When/Where: Ravenclaw Common Room
Rating: G/PG
Summary: Isabella is having trouble sleeping, again. Since she can't sleep, she's hanging around in the common room so she does not wake her dorm mates.

Isabella sighed heavily as she made her way down to the common room. It was late. The common room was deserted naturally, as it should be so late at night. It was a reminder that she should be sleeping as well. Although, sleep was something she could not seem to achieve. Her dreams were troubled again.

Easily she dropped herself into one of the the chairs; a chair that just happened to be positioned so it was facing the large open window in the common room. Outside, the mountains loomed as always in the distance. Over head, a million stars shinned like diamonds. It was a calm night, every where but in her head it seemed.

Suddenly, Isabella remembered something. Albus had said if she had trouble sleeping he would come and sit with her, but she was hesitant in asking. It was late after all and she did not want to trouble any one. Still, she figured it would at least be worth a try. She could charm the paper so it found him and if he did not answer, aka he was asleep, it would find a way back to her.

Quickly, she scribbled a quick note:

Albus, if you are still awake and feel like chatting, I'm in the common room right now. Seems my dreams are as troubled today as they were a few days ago. Don't feel obligated or anything. Who knows you might be sleeping...
Thanks,
Isabella

With a quick flick of her wand she enchanted the piece of parchment. One by one, each of the corners folded themselves in until the paper resembled a paper crane. With a graceful motion it flew off in search of the receiver. Bella did not doubt that her charm would work. She was usually pretty good with her wand work.

Leaning back in the chair, she pulled her knees to her chest. Isabella hugged them tightly as she stared out the window. She tried to focus on anything but her dreams, but that was proving impossible. The images, of the blood and death, kept floating back to her. It was getting old, really. There was no reason for her to be thinking this way.

It was making her jumpy. Any little noise was enough to cause her to jump dramatically. Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm her nerves.

So, Isabella sat there a little longer hugging her knees to her chest. Being in the room alone was a bit unnerving to her. So, she waited to see if she would get a reply to her note, or if someone else would happen to pop up in the common room....
