"That is very impressive," Lissa replied regarding his sister in law. The control she displayed was extraordinary and she wondered if Viktoria would ever be able to get to that place. To her, it was a miracle that she had resisted her nature this much. Maybe it was possible and Dimitri hadn't lost his sister completely.
"I understand that too," she said with a smile. "All Moroi have the ability to compel and Strigoi are much stronger, but with my spirit comes an even more heightened control of it. I can force a target to to see things, frighten them. I've only ever done so in moments of extreme anger or when I've lost control." She paused. "Well, I suppose I have compelled in other timee but not to that extent. I've used it less and less unless it's been out of necessity. While Christian, Jill, and myself were on our own I compelled humans into forgetting we fed from them. It was never by force, but our bite can be very addictive and a high is experienced during the act. It's why we leave the prison to feed. We wouldn't feel right making addicts of those there."
She smiled at him. "I've enjoyed my time here with your family, Jasper, no matter how strange the circumstances. I hope our paths will cross again soon once the spell is rectified and Alice and I are in our own bodies."
