Jasper listened to Lissa as she spoke of feeling the rush and how strong she felt. He smiled some and nodded. "There's very few things in the world that can harm us, let alone kill us," he said. Jasper shook his head at her next comment about his strong will.
"It's not that strong of a will," he admitted. "I've slipped my fair share of times. Once tried to eat my sister-in-law when she was still human," he said with a small chuckle. "But the rest of my family, they manage to keep me from doing anything I might regret." He gestured to the trees around them. "It's why I opted to stay out here instead of going to the prison. It would be...torture and temptation for me to be that close to living humans. I'd rather not risk any loss of control if one was injured."
WHen Lissa spoke of the girl, he listened and he nodded some. "Change is always possible. It only takes a strong will and determination to enact it."
