It was hard not to think of the look he and his sister shared before she ran off and away from Dimitri forever, but the only thing that helped distract him was knowing that soon he would be going after Nathan and Inna. He should have killed them when he had the chance back in Russia, but he hadn't considered him a formidable foe at the time. It was his own pride in his abilities getting in the way. Nathan had been the one to turn Dimitri in the cave and he never should have underestimated him.
He helped Rose get Christian and Lissa back to the prison and stopped by his cell briefly to pick up a couple of items, his duster and a couple of knives. Rose was waiting for him by the time he emerged from the cell.
"He will want to get as far away from here as possible before the sun comes up. We can try to pick up an abandoned car in town and be on our way. He's not had a lot of time to get very far, but it's enough. He's faster than we are, but he's not alone. They'll have to seek shelter soon when the sun rises." As he spoke he was already moving towards the exit. Dimitri was on a mission and he wasn't wasting any time. The son of a bitch had killed his sister and he was going to regret that for the short amount of time Dimitri allowed him to live.
Soon they were at the gate and on their way again. His mind was being transported to his time as a strigoi and he tried to think what he would do and where he would go. He was only a little familiar with what was outside of Everett, but there was a lot of woods before they would hit the next town.
