Who: Rose and Dimitri and later Inna and Nathan What: Killing Strigois When: Backdated to shortly after the botched exchange Where: Prison to start and then out into the wilderness Warning: Violence
Rose had fallen into step with Dimitri on the way back to the prison just behind Lissa and Christian. Nobody was saying anything, like they were all stuck in some kind of screwed up vacuum where everything was wrong. Because everything was wrong damn it. Rose had even been good and stuck to the plan, to the letter and still Viktoria had been lost. She wanted to chase down that dick Nathan and rip his fucking head right off. Strigoi weren't exactly known for playing fair but Rose hadn't been expecting to see Viktoria like that. She was gone, lost, Strigoi. Everyone was thinking and nobody was saying it. Rose was already thinking of ways to hold Viktoria down while Lissa staked her. If it was even possible for Lissa to do something like that again. Was it possible to see two miracles in a lifetime? Rose thought she had been pushing her luck with just the one but if Rose had a middle name it would be Pushing Her Luck.
The only thing stopping her and she knew the same went for Dimitri, was the safety of the Moroi with them. Christian was pretty badass in his own right but Rose still didn't want to set him and Lissa off on their own to get back to the prison while she and Dimitri hunted down the Strigoi. And no offense to Natasha but Rose didn't know her that well and wouldn't trust Lissa with someone she didn't know very well. It was hard enough to trust Lissa with her own mother and Janine Hathaway was a force to be reckoned with.
Rose was thinking about the Moroi, thinking about Natasha, thinking about the rage she felt towards Nathan and his little idiot Inna. She was thinking about everything but the dhampir she had met back in Russia. The girl who had embraced her as a sister even after Rose had butted into Viktoria's love life. She didn't want to think about that girl because then she might really lose it and she couldn't afford to lose it. There were things that needed to be taken care of and whatever anguish Rose was feeling, Dimitri was feeling it times a hundred. Her anger towards him had completely dissipated into worry.
After they made it back to the prison, Rose saw Lissa and Christian back to their cellblock before she caught up with Dimitri in his cell. She didn't need to go back to the cell she shared with Parker and hardly ever spent any time in. She was already armed to the teeth.
