Who: Faith and Emily, brief mentions of Lissa and Buffy and Cristina and Julia
What: Emily petting the cranky slayer, lots of hurt/comfort
When: After Lissa heals Faith's internal injuries and Faith and Dr. Yang yell at each other a lot
Warnings: Cranky slayer, that's about it.
Lissa was some kind of magic fairy as far as Faith could tell. And it was lucky for all of the doctors around that the Moroi queen had been present. Her healing powers extended past the internal bleeding and injuries that Faith had sustained but also swept Faith's entire being with an oddly comforted calm feeling. It was lucky for everyone else because Faith's very first instinct on waking back up was to fight. Even in her injured state she would have knocked down half the people in the room before Dr. Know It All could stick her needle in Faith's arms to calm her ass down.
After that she had slept on and off grateful for the sedatives because they kept most of the nightmares at bay. She didn't have to think about a beautiful irate blonde thrashing through the forest, consumed by anger and bloodlust and anguish. She was so deadly and she was so lonely. They had taken from her the only thing she had left. Her sire was gone all so Faith could have her best friend back, so Connor could have his father back. The entire world had stolen from Buffy Summers. Connor and Faith were just the last in a long line of thieves.
Now that she was awake she was refusing sedatives and most treatment of all kind. She occasionally let Dr. Yang poke her with needles and change her bandages but only long enough to curse and yell about wanting a cigarette. She hated hospitals and she hated being fussed over. She was a superhero, she was supposed to be the leader. She wasn't supposed to get sick or hurt. She wasn't supposed to need anyone to take care of her.
She had calmed down a little bit when Emily had finally arrived in the infirmary. Faith didn't know if the doctors had told her to stay away so she could get her rest or if Emily just didn't want to see her like that but she had started to wonder if Em was going to come see her at all. And as much as she hated it she wanted Emily to be there, she wanted her to hold her hand and smooth her hair back and tell her it was all going to be okay. Just wanting that, the things that normal people wanted made Faith feel weak. It was weakness to care about others but she couldn't help herself. She wanted it. She wanted the comfort, she wanted her girlfriend there holding her hand. She wanted Emily to deal with Dr. Yang so that Faith didn't "accidentally" duct tape the good doctor to the nearest chair.
Despite wanting the comfort she forced a brave determined look on her face when Emily passed through the curtain and approached Faith's bed. "You know I'm only in here cause they're making me stay. I'm fine," Faith said. She had even proven it by getting up and walking outside with Julia to have a cigarette a few minutes ago.
