What: Interrupting slightly apologetic Sheldon

Sheldon hadn’t slept much, but in the scope of everything that had been occurring at the prison during the short time he’d been here he didn’t see this as problem. In fact he’d rather be elbows deep in the electrical system trying to rework the generators into regulating power more efficiently than be on the internet contributing to all of the twaddle there. He knew that the likelihood of him finding another human settlement outside of the hippie commune filled with religious fanatics from their local church had been slim to none. But shelter was shelter and he knew that despite his prickly disposition, if he could prove himself useful they wouldn't be able to kick him out so easily. And as much as he’d mentally criticized the lot of them back in Texas, they’d all proven themselves by being hell near excellent marksmen. A skill which he'd picked up while he was there and had no doubt greatly contributed to his survival after-
He couldn’t sleep. And while there was a plethora of work he could busy himself with his neuroreceptors were losing their sensitivity, impairing his cognitive functions. Allowing Violet of all people, a promising young protege but nothing more as of yet, to start pointing out his mistakes and Sheldon Cooper did NOT make mistakes. Nor did he waste his time remembering things that were unnecessary to him. Like the date, time and weather when he decided to leave Galveston or the exact length, width, and depth of the hole he’d dug before doing so. It was all irrelevant data that could do nothing for him now, let alone help him reach REM sleep. However in his cell he was finding little distraction from his rebellious thoughts and while Dr. Robert Oppenheimer and Spock normally served the function of offering him companionship and subsequent comfort they were still with Colleen. His wayward roommate was gone as well, attending some ridiculous party though Tyler got points for trying to initially get out of it. Yet it seemed that even a demiwolf could not stand up against his girlfriend’s demands, much like Leonard had often acquiesced to Penny’s desires.
Penny. It was illogical to feel guilt over their previous interaction because he had merely been trying to prevent her from incurring harm, but he knew the girl and her sensitivities. No doubt she was waiting for some kind of apology from him which Sheldon did not feel he had a reason to offer... But she was the only person he knew here. In fact Sheldon often inwardly marveled at the woman having survived this long though he did know that Penny was quite tough from her Nebraska upbringing. So maybe he had been wrong to discount her? Sheldon so hated being wrong.
Not thinking for once Sheldon sat up and and left his Cell, eye blinking as they adjusted to the various shadows before he took the 37 steps that brought him to an unfamiliar cell door. It was quite late he knew, the exact time hidden away in the store of his memory, but he didn’t care. He couldn’t sleep and only Penny might humor so he knocked once “Penny,” twice “Penny,” three times. “Penny.”
