"He just left me! He turned me and left and now I'm alone. The one person I thought would help me just took off, running from me. I tried ... I tried to catch her, but everything was so clouded, so confusing, you know? I was so hungry. Do you ever feel that way?" Buffy asked, a hint of a smile on her face, her heard tilted as she watched the girl on the ground, dirty, terrified and alone. Just like her. It was almost poetic how everything worked out. A vampire slayer turned vampire. "Don't you have anything to say? Anything to help me?" Buffy's smile was gone as she inched closer and closer to her prey. "I'm asking for help, aren't you going to help me?"
"Please ... please, I'll help you -"
"Shut up," Buffy finally said, not believing one word that was coming out of her dirty mouth. She reached down and grabbed the girl by her neck easily, then shoved her against a tree. The tree shook and the girls eyes were wide with fear. "Oh, you haven't heard the greatest part," she started again. "She's the one in charge, she's the leader. That's my job. I do that, but now ... now I'm stuck. On the outside looking in and all I want is to get inside and show Faith how much I appreciate her just leaving me behind. I thought we got over our drama," she shrugged, thinking that last part out loud. "You though, you are going to help me after all."
The only thing that could be heard next were screams as Buffy tore into her neck violently, drinking deep, then tossing her aside. She turned around, wiping her mouth as she looked on at the prison. With a sigh, she backed against the tree, leaning against it and she wondered what Faith was doing right now. Was she trying to be like Buffy, or was she having trouble? Were they listening to her? She smiled, delighted in the fact that Faith was totally failing and even if she wasn't, she would. She didn't know the first thing about being a leader, Buffy knew that first hand. Buffy knew Faith usually failed at everything anyway, she just wanted her to come outside. Just leave the prison walls, Faith. You can do it.
But Faith never came.
"I'm waiting, Faith," Buffy announced to the wind. She stepped over the girl and walked back toward the housing projects. It would be morning in a few hours and she figured she had some time to kill. You know, literally.
