Julia waved to the person at the front desk of the infirmary as she walked through the empty makeshift lobby and headed toward the supply room. Not bothering to stop along the way though the urge was always there to take a detour and check up on Vera. Honestly Julia would have thought that by now she’d have gotten over the skittishness, but with hope always came the fear of losing it again it seemed. And while the nurse knew better than to start planning a bright, happy future for them Julia couldn’t help the way her heart was starting to yearn for the possibility, but she knew it was a dangerous path to tread. She’d meant what she'd said to Penny earlier over the network, on how sometimes it was easy to forget just how horrible things were out there when they had the safety of these walls protecting them. But nothing could ever truly be safe, especially not with the kind of enemies this prison seemed to have though Julia had a sense that something had changed recently. In that regard Merle had been right about one thing at least. There were things that went on in the prison that the general population would never know about. Whether that was good or bad she didn’t know. All she wanted was to give Vera as much normalcy as she could and she thought Christmas would go a long way in helping with that.
Turning a last corner Julia mentally shook off her troubling thoughts as she walked into the supply room. Eyes distracted temporarily by the piles of sorted and unsorted goods the raiders had recently brought back before she lifted her gaze and caught sight of the blonde in the back, picking through clothes. Smiling Julia walked forward and asked, “Find anything interesting in there?”
