Who: Christian and Dimitri
What: Guarding his Guardian
When: The morning after Connor was staked by Dimitri
Where: The Inn
The Inn was mostly silent as the sun rose on Everett on a chilly Saturday morning. People were busy saying goodbyes and packing their things so that Azazeal could transport them to his London abode. Not everyone was coming. The cowboys, Kaitlyn, Gabriel and Castiel had decided to remain in Everett. Christian would miss them, but he supposed he understood their attachment to the place they'd called home for awhile. He felt some attachment to it, but mostly he was ready to go. Too many horrible things had happened in this town for him to want to remain behind. It was hard to see how the good outweighed the bad beyond meeting some pretty incredible people. His roommate was headed to another planet. So it wasn't like London was so far to journey.
They couldn't linger for long. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out who killed Connor, and Christian couldn't blame Connor's family for wanting vengeance. Once upon a time he'd been a scared kid who watched as Guardians swept in to kill his own parents for the things they'd done after becoming Strigoi. At least Moira and Lucas had chosen their fate. It had to sting worse for Connor's parents that their son never wanted to be a vampire. Life rarely worked out how people wanted, and surviving meant knowing how to deal what was thrown at you.
Regardless of how they felt, Christian wasn't going to stand idly by and wait for them to come after Dimitri. Everyone was in agreement that they needed to go. So bags were packed quietly, goodbyes were made, and soon they would be headed to another cold and rainy place. Christian had finished packing and went in search of his Guardian. No matter if Dimitri believed he was right or not, staking his best friend had to be traumatic. Christian wanted to be sure he was holding up alright.
It wasn't hard to find him. If he wasn't walking the grounds, he was in the library. Christian took a chance that it was the latter. Mostly because it was a safer place for him to avoid the Aurelians. Knocking lightly on the door, he entered and found Dimitri alone in the room.
"Hey. How are you holding up?" Christian closed the door behind him to give them privacy. Not that anyone was likely to interrupt. People knew it was best to give the tall Russian Guardian his space when he was feeling like this, but Christian liked to play with fire.
So here he was.
