"The two of us maybe, but the rest? I'd start making that line you've drawn a lot wider." Confusion passed across his face for only a moment, but Dimitri tried his best to push it away. Several people had left town recently, but a few stuck out in his mind and it wasn't the one who had left only a couple of days prior. Thor was hardly a vampire. He knew it wouldn't be any of the groups that Dimitri didn't know well because Connor would hardly throw that in his face. He meant someone close to him. Asking who only extended the conversation though and Dimitri couldn't afford to become distracted. He'd find out once this was over.
"I don't want your soul to feel the weight of what you're doing. Mine shouldn't have to feel what I've done, but here I am." The words barely had a chance to linger in the air because Connor's foot connected with his face and he stumbled back. He had the wooden stake and his stance showed that he was ready to get this done.
Each were still waiting on the other to make the next move. The shift of his face was hard to look at, but he continued telling himself that this wasn't his friend anymore. Certain characteristics, his appearance, and his memories were still there but it wasn't him and the friend he knew would want Dimitri to keep his promise. Connor had admitted as much himself when he talked about not wanting a soul and that was enough motivation for Dimitri.
Springing forward, Dimitri went in to lash out at Connor but he moved quickly enough to dodge him the first time but Dimitri knew he would and quickly landed another quick hit to his chest and then the face with the hand that held the stake. He was looking for an opening to take advantage of but he knew Connor wouldn't give one easily.
