"He hasn't seen fit to do anything about it yet, has he? I highly doubt my witches have slowed someone like him down. Face it, Buddy, they know this is something personal that we have to work out between us. Boys will be boys, yeah?"
The fact he was oblivious to what he meant was endearing. It was just so Dimitri. He could see every threat around him, but he often missed things that would be obvious to others. Like the fact he wasn't the only close friend of Dimitri's to acquire fangs recently. "I haven't forced everyone. Of course when I turn someone, they tend to stay in town."
There was the hint. Just enough of bait on the line to try and get those wheels turning in his head. Of course Dimitri was a little focused on his own task right now, but Connor wanted him thinking. After all, some people had left town, and two had disappeared.
Where oh where could they be?
"Do you think I'd want my soul to feel the weight of what I'm doing?" Just like that he snapped back to being serious. "I'd rather die a thousand deaths. I'm not who I used to be, and there is no going back. They cursed you when they brought you back, but I'm going to free you of it all."
Connor lunged suddenly, leaping through the air and connecting a kick to Dimitri's face, causing both of them to drop to the ground. They both sprung right back up, and circled each other slowly. Connor's blue eyes shifted to yellow as his vampire visage surfaced. "Ready to dance?"
