Who: Jondy and Stefan
What: Some people in Everett are going to live happily ever after
When: Today, bendy time
Where: out and about
Warnings: Probably sex
Ripley was restless. She was getting bigger by the day which meant when she jumped up on you, you felt her weight. Luckily, she was living in a cabin full of superbeings. She wasn't going to hurt Jondy, Max or Steve by jumping around the cabin like the wild little jungle cat that she was. Jondy still missed Tinga and thought about her every single day. The tiger had been her best friend for a really long time but they had met as adults. Rearing Ripley from kittenhood was a much different experience and while she was a wild little demon monster sometimes, she was learning how to be a real predator among her own kind. Some of Jondy's favorite moments were when she had worn Ripley out good and properly and the kitten curled up on the sofa with her and slept while Jondy read a book. The quiet moments were the ones that stuck with her. She had settled into her life in Everett and into her home with Ripley and Max and Steve. As half of the town planned their mass exodus, Jondy stretched out on the couch in her living room in front of the fire place in no rush to go anywhere at any time.
Her kitten was in a rush though and she scampered madly around the room, chasing what Jondy had deemed "the invisible beasties". Sometimes Jondy could see what she was chasing around, whether it be a fleck of dust in the air or the smallest of bugs, but not always. She had the same feline vision as Ripley if not a bit more advanced since she could zoom in for close ups and most cats couldn't quite use their own eyes like a sniper scope the way the transgenics could. And even Jondy couldn't always see what Ripley was chasing around. Hence, invisible beasties.
"You want to go see Stefan?" she asked the cat. Cats weren't as stupid as some people thought they were. They recognized names, mostly their own but Ripley perked at the mention of Stefan. She was a big fan of his, mostly because they were hunting buddies and Stefan always let Ripley have a big old chunk of whatever it was he was hunting that day. Stefan was teaching Jondy how to be a predator too. It was a group effort and it didn't hurt that Jondy enjoyed spending time with Stefan. Despite the gap of time where they had no contact, they had easily fallen into a rhythm. It was different now, obviously. Jondy was no longer a child and they could treat each other like adults now. They were adults but sometimes Ripley's kittenish behavior rubbed off on the two of them and they would have a round of 'anything you can do I can do better'. Since he had vampire stamina and she had transgenic stamina those rounds could go on for days when they really got caught up in them. It was competitive but it was all in good fun too. Jondy couldn't help the little thrill that went through her every time Stefan caught her or she caught him.
Stefan seemed to be the one part of Jondy's life in Everett that was still a big fat question mark. She liked him, she couldn't help himself. He was a good guy and he wasn't exactly hard on the eyes. Their relationship had grown from protector to equals to friendship to.... what? Jondy's only real experiences with relationships had been brief and strange. Roman and Kol weren't exactly the poster children for what a normal healthy relationship should be. There had been men in Jondy's life before the zombies, back in California but they were fleeting and usually just around when she went into heat. She knew that they had both just walked out of relationships. She gathered that Faith had done a lot more damage to Stefan than Kol had done to her though. She wasn't sure how to handle a damaged heart. She wasn't sure what to do about her feelings at all.
But damn it, she was going to do something.
Ripley caught up to Stefan easily in the woods. She was going to be a good little tracker one day but for right now she really only knew how to track her and Stefan and Max and Steve. It was a good start. She'd have to learn sometime.
"Hey," Jondy smiled slightly at Stefan. "Ripley was missing you so we decided to take a walk." She didn't mention that she had been missing him too but her heart raced a little when she saw him, as had been happening lately.
