Who: Misty and Dean What: Pack of hell hounds are after them When: Tonight Where: Wilderness Warnings: I'm gonna go with yes
It was nights like this that Misty appreciated the lack of electricity in the streets of Everett. It reminded her of the nights back in her swamp before the virus had broken out, peaceful and soothing. The snow was a new addition but a welcome one, the sound of it crunching under her boots putting a smile on her face. She took one step after another as she randomly followed a path lit up by the light of the nearly full moon. Dante probably wouldn’t approve of this habit of hers, he seemed to think she was chock full of traits that would eventually get her killed, and maybe they would but that really wasn’t much of a concern for her when her gift was that of resurgence. That and the fact that she could toss or freeze anyone that wanted to hurt her with a simple wave of her hand.
WIth a hum, she continued on unbothered and wasn’t all that surprised when she caught sight of the nemeton just a few feet away from her. The tree had a certain pull to it, one that she spent most of the time ignoring. Something that powerful shouldn’t be messed with and Bonnie was unfortunate proof of that. Still, it was a beautiful part of nature and if she found herself dancing next to it under the moonlight, it was no one’s business but her own.
Misty held out her arms and spun around in loose circles around the nemeton. The energy emanating from the tree was thrilling and she cheerfully hummed some of her favorite Fleetwood Mac songs under her breath. She didn’t pay any mind to anything or anyone around her as she tilted her face up towards the night sky, the dappled moonlight almost making her skin and blonde hair glow. It was almost exactly like Louisiana and if she ignored the chilly air, she could pretend she was home.
The illusion was broken, however, when she heard a twig snap a ways off to her left. Her spinning slowly came to a stop, and Misty pulled her shawl tighter around herself when she turned to look in the direction the noise had come from. “Is someone there?” She took a step further away from the tree in a fit of curiosity. “I don’t bite, no need to get all shy on me.”
