Rebekah understood the fundamentals of what was happening. She and Lissa were each being tormented by figures from their past. This was personal, this maze that had appeared from out of thin air in the woods. This maze had been designed for them somehow for some reason. Rebekah wondered what she and Lissa had in common. Besides being blonde vampires, perhaps there was more but Rebekah didn't know how much more.
She recognized the boy who had approached Lissa as being her boyfriend from the prison. There seemed to be something off about him though and it was upsetting Lissa.
"Right you are, love. He's not dead. This is all a trick, a hallucination of some kind. Magic. Whatever it is, we have to remember that these things are definitely not real. They can't hurt us if they're not real. They only have as much power as we give the-"
Rebekah was suddenly cut off as she walked right into a wooden dagger. She could feel it pierce her heart and she looked up for one second, hurt and pain etched into her expression as she looked helplessly up into her brother's face. Niklaus could be so fucking cold sometimes. When he looked at her like that she never hated him more.
So much for her theory about the hallucinations not being able to help them. Rebekah's skin slowly turned an ashy grey with veins sticking out. She fell to the ground hard, eyes closed and unconscious with a dagger sticking out of her chest.
