Rebekah was dizzy just from seeing her father. The sudden appearance of so many old spirits at once was only sending her heightened emotions into overdrive. When the Strigoi ran at them, Rebekah immediately stepped in front of Lissa and grabbed the first one by the throat and shoving him backwards into his friend. She grabbed another one and snapped it's neck but finally turned and fled after Lissa.
Lissa was far slower than Rebekah despite her impossibly long legs. Rebekah zipped ahead and grabbed Lissa around the waist. The girl was taller than she was which made it a bit awkward but she still half carried her half dragged her through the maze and away from the spirits that pursued them. Rebekah supposed she could have just dropped Lissa and left her to her own devices but she was feeling rather generous today.
It felt like they had run forever when Rebekah finally stopped. "Just how big is this bloody maze?" Rebekah asked, feeling irate on the verge of a temper tantrum. That could prove dangerous for Lissa unless the spirit returned and then Rebekah would have an outlet. The vampire was shaking. Seeing her father was something she never thought she would ever do.
"Hello, Rebekah." Rebekah spun around to see Alexander standing there staring at her. It was always difficult to see Alexander because Rebekah had loved him so much. He had turned out to be a vampire hunter using her to get closer to her family so he could kill them all.
"Alexander." Rebekah pushed Lissa backwards. He was a vampire hunter which meant that she was in trouble with him around too. "You haven't changed at all have you?"
No of course not. He smirked at her as he brandished that sword and started to run towards them.
