Rebekah was just a bit too startled to say anything at first as the older man approached Lissa. Or should she say Vasilisa? Ouch. No wonder she went with Lissa. It was a very wise decision. The man was a bit of a dick and now Rebekah was simply curious as she watched the exchange between the two of them. Then another young girl was suddenly there and Rebekah frowned. What was this nonsense?
"Well, I don't know who St. Vladimir is but I'm not crazy and I see you just fine." Rebekah narrowed her blue eyes at the offenders before turning to Lissa. "Right this way, love. Let's get out of here." But when she attempted to get to the part of the shrubbery where she had entered the maze it was already covered. There was no exit where there had once been an entrance.
"That's just bloody fantastic." Rebekah sighed. "I'll jump over the top and then get you out. Okay?" Rebekah moved to vault over the bushes but they only grew to reach her considerable height. She couldn't jump over them because they were keeping her contained. She hit the ground next to Lissa and frowned.
"That's not good. We'll have to find another way out of here. Come on."
She hadn't walked very far when she her father standing in the middle of the maze.
"Rebekah, where's your brother? I need to have a word with him." In Mikael's hand, a stake and Rebekah knew exactly which kind it was.
"I haven't seen him, Father. He's not here."
"I know you're lying to me. Come close so that I can see you face," he replied.
"I would really rather not," Rebekah replied, backing up into Lissa.
