There was another voice that whispered in the distance but she didn't recognize it at all. Victor seemed to have gone quiet for the moment and when Kol and Elijah's sister soon appeared Lissa began to wonder if she'd imagined the entire ordeal. "I'm not sure. I don't remember seeing it either, but how does something like this simply appear?" Stranger things had happened in Everett, but she didn't mention that. This seemed somehow different than a hellgod or unspeakable evils coming into Everett to kill the entire population. Those were evil and this was simply... well, strange for a lack of a better word.
Lissa did hear the voice calling out for Rebekah and her eyes grew wide. It wasn't the same voice that had been calling for her but she heard it all the same. She didn't know Rebekah very well, but she got along well with two of her brothers in very different ways and for different reasons. The third she knew even less than she did Rebekah.
"Yes, I heard it." She listened for another moment but nothing happened. "I heard another voice earlier. I think we should try to get out of here."
Laughter echoed in the shadows and Lissa jumped. It was a menacing laugh that seemed to be laughing directly at her. She knew that laugh too because it used to be endearing to her just as the earlier voice had. They were from the same person.
"I thought you would have been much smarter than this, Vasilisa." A figure appeared to her and began walking towards both her and Rebekah. "What sort of queen allows her people to fall apart as you have?" Victor. No, it wasn't possible.
Lissa's face hardened as she looked at the man she once regarded as an uncle. They weren't actually related but he had been her parents' closest friend. The saddest part of all was that Victor had truly believed his actions in taking Lissa to use as his own personal healer were just. For the greater good of the Moroi.
"You're not real."
"If we're not does that mean you're finally as crazy as St. Vladimir?" A young, female voice whispered in her ear and Lissa suddenly saw Natalie standing right next to her. She gasped and jumped back in surprise.
"No. I'm not." Lissa moved to stand next to Rebekah. "How did you get in here? The way I came is now blocked."
