Who: Isabel and Hellboy What: They walk through the wrong fog Where: The Woods When: Today Warnings: Some violence, etc...
Isabel was looking for Rogue. Normally she would sign out with Rogue and the two of them would just split up and do their own thing. Neither one of them were a fan of the buddy system and had learned to work it to their advantage awhile ago. But it didn't matter because Rogue was gone. Isabel had no clue if she was ever coming back and that sucked because Rogue was the first real friend she had made in the prison. After the whole Val debacle, Isabel didn't want another roommate. Especially one that was all freaky with weird hair and a no touching rule. Of course her touch didn't bother Isabel which only drove home the hypocrisy since Isabel was most definitely a freak too. Not even from this planet. The point was that Val had taught Isabel a valuable lesson in not trusting anybody except for her family and well, Spike. But Spike had earned the trust. Eventually, so had Rogue.
She had no way to help her. The one person who could always help, who could always heal was Max but they had already tried that and it hadn't done anything. She wanted to reach out into Rogue's dreams but Dr. Banner had told her to wait on that so she was against her better judgment.
So she was out walking by herself. She could have taken Max or Spike with her but no, she wanted a little independence. She wanted to be out by herself. She was constantly breaking that rule and this time just hastily slapped down Max's name next to hers. He was practically a recluse since Liz had died so nobody would notice anyway. And if they did who cared? She would already be long gone by then anyway. She was a big girl and she could go where she pleased when she wanted. It was still a free country last time she checked and she had plenty of power to back her up.
She walked out into the woods and towards the lake. She had been there a few times now to check out the tree everyone always talked about. That thing was creepy but it's power entirely supernatural. Isabel, though different than a human, wasn't supernatural. She was very natural. She was just from a different planet.
A gentle fog rolled across Isabel's feet as she kept walking. The sun dipped below the clouds, their grey swirls muting the light. She could still see perfectly fine but the forest darkened. She felt compelled to walk still and walked deeper into the fog. Inside she could see in front of her but the visibility was severely impaired. She couldn't see very far in front of her. She should have turned back, she should have tried to get out of the fog but she just kept moving forward.
There was a statue standing in the forest ahead of her and she stopped to admire it. It was a creature, some kind of gargoyle. The look on it's face was sick and made Isabel's stomach twist into knots and yet she couldn't look away. She reached out slowly to touch it, her fingertips almost brushing up against the sneer on it's face when she heard someone walk up behind her. She startled, just before she touched the statue and quickly withdrew her hand. She spun around and her eyes got a little bigger when she saw who was standing there. What the hell was that?
