Fred grinned and leaned back some on the couch after she passed the joint back to Destiny. Did dying mean that her tolerance for this sort of thing was crap? She didn't know, but she let the effects of it start to sink in and after a few minutes she started to feel so much more relaxed. Even if she wasn't dying every day the leftover tension from the last month was still there some.
"Partly," she said with a shrug and drank a couple of sips of the wine. "That, and I needed to get out of the house for a little while. Cabin fever I guess." She smiled. She'd usually stayed closer to home lately so other than the first week of being alive again she hadn't truly been able to take life by the horns without reservation yet and she was looking forward to doing that.
"Whenever I start a new project I sometimes develop a one-track mind until I solve the problem, the equation, or whatever the crisis is that seems to be going on. I did that some with what was going on last month and although it stopped, I still want to know why it stopped so I can make sure that it doesn't happen again."
Fred accepted the joint back and took a long drag before speaking again. "I knew I needed to get away from my notes and everything else, so I took a walk and ended up here." She smiled again, a knowing smile because she was pretty sure she already knew the answer. "I hope you don't mind."
