Who: Rose and Finn What: Rose and Finn get into a car accident Where: About 30 miles away from Everett When: Today Warnings: Creepy shit Notes: Rose and Finn are going to disappear for a few days so if your character would be inclined to notice such a thing feel free to notice it.
Rose needed a break from baby duty. She wasn't really worried about taking off on a short raid with Finn. There were so many people skulking around that inn it was probably the safest place in town and that was with the prison's enormous sentry team in mind. Since Dimitri was among the skulkers at both locations they were doubly safe and Rose needed to stretch her legs a little. She knew she could hassle Finn into letting her drive. Nobody ever let Rose drive. Comrade was nearly obsessed with driving and wouldn't even think about giving Rose a turn at the wheel. You would think she was a reckless person or something. Sheesh.
As expected Rose was able to bully Finn into letting her drive. Then again, it was easy considering he had never been in the car with her and didn't know her all that well. On the backroads, without having to worry about the police anymore, Rose drove as fast as she liked, hugging corners closely as she took turns far too fast. Finn was starting to look a little green.
"Do not puke in here," she warned him. "Out the window if you're gonna blow chunks."
This of course had no impact on her driving. They had a long ways to go, the raiders were sending them pretty far out and she didn't want to be in the car all freaking day. She had no idea what kind of a driver Finn was but she supposed if he whined enough she would let him drive on the way back. She was going to enjoy herself until then though. All she really needed was the radio. It was too bad that those freedom fighters couldn't figure out how to hook her up with some tunes. Oh well. Silence was still better than listening to the greatest hits of the 80's which was what Dimitri had in his car. Instead she hummed along to her own little tune and drummed on the steering wheels with her fingers.
Later maybe she would blame herself for driving too fast but this accident was bound to happen no matter who was driving. It was too late that she spotted the spikes on the road and before she knew it the tires were punctured. Rose fought with the steering wheel to get control of the car but she couldn't. All she could hear was the sound of glass shattering, of Finn yelling something unintelligible and metal grinding against metal as the car careened over the side of the road and into a deep ravine.
There were little flashes, bits and pieces of memory that stuck to her. The sensation of hanging upside down, her seatbelt tethering her to the seat. Everything had a pinkish tint to it because blood had run into one of her eyes. Finn was unconscious, she could see him dangling from his own seatbelt, eyes closed. She couldn't tell how badly he was hurt because of the blood in her eyes. She blinked once, twice, three times. She heard voices in the background before she faded back into the darkness.
She heard the sound of a heart monitor as she came back around. The room spun dizzily around her for a moment as she squinted in the bright fluorescent light. She flailed for a second and realized she was hooked up to an IV through the back of her hand and the machine was monitoring her heart rate. Her head fell lazily to one side and she saw Finn in the hospital bed beside her own.
"Lissa?" The demand came out slow and slurred as she tried to sit up. Something was wrong with her. Something was very wrong. Where was Lissa?
