As irritating and pointless as the questions were, they provided some distraction from the crowd of humans around him, all clearly itching to get their chance to have a go at him while he didn't have his lighter in hand. Fucking cowards, not a damn one of them would ever dare to get this close to him otherwise. He would have happily roasted his neighbors alive the day the professor had shown up and there wasn't a single part of him that would've regretted it. He should have done it, maybe then he wouldn't have been here and forced to answer stupid questions like if he was stronger than Rogue.
John choked out a strained laugh and gave the weirdo a condescending look. "What do you think, dipshit?" The words were barely out of his mouth when he suddenly shuddered and desperately tried to hunch in on himself, trying to ward off any more attacks. "Weak," he gasped, as though forced out of him, "she was always weak. Trying to hide when she coulda been powerful."
The man would have likely gotten more out of him but John couldn't pay attention to him even if he wanted to. His dad grew tired of waiting as did the others and they advanced on him.
Pain. Excruciating pain. It was the only thing John felt in that moment, almost as if he was being torn the fuck apart piece by piece. He yelled and pulled against the restraints, but no matter what he did, he couldn't get away from them, from his father. He glanced up with what he hoped was a glare but his eyes were filled with fear when he caught the look of self satisfaction on his dad's face right right before he plunged his knife into his gut and slowly started to drag it up. His body violently recoiled as he let out the loudest scream yet.
His vision was swimming, his chest heaving as he struggled for breath. John couldn't take much more of this, he felt like he was dying. His eyes closed and he blacked out.
His eyes slowly opened and Erik glowered at the man in the mask. Was that the new uniform? Was this a new approach the doctor was trying? What did it matter anyway? He'd taken the most precious thing from him already. His mother. "Rób, co chcesz, mnie to nie obchodzi."
