Whatever 'Pyro' was seeing in his hallucination, it was obviously causing him pain. His overall attitude was much different than the girl's, his arrogance and pride made it obvious, and Crane wondered how many personalities she carried in her. Was it just a multiple personality disorder, or was it her mutation causing it? Her tone as she spoke was different than the previous night, and it just piqued his interest even more. Who knew that hunting in the projects would bring forth such an interesting catch.
"What are you doing here, Pyro? Are you trying to protect the girl?" He tilted his head, loosening his grasp on her neck. "Are you the strong one out of the two?"
Or out of however many personalities in her? He didn't phrase it that way, but it was still a question that he wanted the answer to. "If you're not human, what are you? Are you the strongest mutant of them all?" It wasn't a serious question, there was a taunt laced with his words, but he didn't bother to hide it. He wanted to see the reaction that he could draw out of 'Pyro.'
