The guilt was crushing and Rogue sobbed as she looked down at the bodies piling up around her. She'd always been so careful, she never meant to hurt anyone, especially not Logan. That had always been her biggest fear. That her mutation would somehow amplify and a single, swift touch would be all it took to kill everyone around her. It's why she left Bobby's group, she hadn't trusted herself not to hurt him or other mutations traveling with them and she was right.
She glanced over at him and fresh tears spilled down her cheeks at his accusation. She couldn't deny it, their bodies were right there. "I didn't mean to," she cried, her body shaking. She didn't even realize that she shouldn't give him any details but the drugs loosened her tongue. "I've touched him before and he, and he was fine. I don't know what happened." She trailed off and a small pained whimper left her lips.
"My touch shouldn't have killed him, not that fast, I've never killed anyone that fast before." She killed Jimmy with her ability but she'd actually maintained contact until he'd stopped breathing. "You believe me, don't you," she asked him, suddenly desperate to find someone that knew she wasn't a monster. That all of this had been an accident. "I always cover my skin but I don't know where my gloves are."
