Watching the terror overtake her features was absolutely mesmerizing. Crane took in every shallow breath, every word she cried out and just watched her. He just listened. She hadn't answered his question directly, as to what she feared, but it wasn't hard to figure it out as she cried for this Logan and Laura that she was seeing in her hallucinations.
But then she said something that he surely hadn't been expecting. Her mutation? It was enough to take him by surprise, but she was too far gone to notice and the mask hid it anyway. Crane wasn't a fan of surprises, but this one wasn't a bad one. Not at all. Throughout his travels and overall research he had heard about mutations, but he had never seen a mutant in person.
He definitely had never tested his toxins on a mutant, either, and he was more than happy to add her to his list.
"You killed them," he accused her, his surprise helping in making himself horrified to make her guilt and her own horror multiply. With the drugs, he already knew it wouldn't be hard. "What did you do? How did you do that?"
