Who: Julie and Kat What: Hanging out When: Nowish Where: Dante's apartment in the projects Warnings: None Notes: Sorry to Dante, Pietro, Cora, Selene and Meredith for the junk treasures. I promise there's no dead cats in the boxes.
Julie had been cleaning up her office a little bit. Clients were always complaining about the mess she kept but Julie didn't view herself as messy at all. She just had an emotional attachment to her things and she didn't want to throw them away. And since she had so many things they ended up getting stacked in boxes around her office and her apartment, taking up space on her sofa and her desk. Often times Julie had to clear out a place for her clients to sit when they came by her office or if Meredith or Dante came by for a visit.
She wouldn't throw anything away. The only thing she felt comfortable doing was giving some things away to the people that she cared about. She had five boxes. One for Dante, one for Meredith, one for Cora, one for Selene and one for Pietro. In Julie's mind it made perfect sense to give Meredith a bunch of old books, a lazy susan and a Star Wars calendar from 2010. She knew her friends would treasure the items she had set aside for them even if to a logical person the things she collected and the presents she gave away made no real sense. The lazy susan was even missing one of it's wheels but Julie thought it still looked alright if not a little tipsy.
Once she had divided up some of the stuff she had, the things she could maybe live without if she knew they would be well loved by those she cared about, she taped the boxes shut and used a Sharpie marker to write the corresponding names on each of the boxes. She had a hard time taping Dante's box shut since the broken flower pot she had put at the top was poking out about the edges but she finally managed to secure the box.
Crabby hopped around in his cage excitedly as Julie piled up the boxes. Julie didn't know if Meredith was busy in the clinic downstairs but didn't want to disturb her until later in the day just in case she had patients. Since Dante was closest she hefted his box up into her arm and then locked her office door behind her, leaving behind a sign that she would return within the hour.
She really hoped Dante liked the flower pot, the rusted out crockpot, twelve old issues of People Magazine and the set of four Oreo cookie mugs. The handle was missing from one of the mugs but it was still completely useable.
Steadying the box in one arm she used her free hand to knock on his door. It was possible that he was over at Katherine's for the day working. It was difficult for Julie to keep track of his schedule since it tended to be as erratic as Dante himself. She was pleasantly surprised to see Kat opening the door though.
"Hey! You must be Kat. Dante told me all about you. I'm Julie." Still balancing the box on one arm she reached out and shook Kat's hand.
