Who: Jondy and Rose
What: Rose catches Jondy creeping and offers unexpected help
When: The day before this.
Where: Salvatore HQ
Warnings: No
Jondy had left Ripley sleeping on the rug in front of the fire place. The kitten was playful but she also needed a lot of sleep so Jondy tried not to disturb her. As Ripley grew into adulthood she would be more active more regularly and she and Jondy would fall into a routine together. As it was now when Ripley was outdoors she needed a lot of attention and monitoring. Jondy didn't want to disturb her sleep and she hadn't been feeling well herself since she had run out of her tryptophan doses. Ripley would probably sleep the afternoon away anyway.
Jondy wanted to get some air. She had been trying to hide the seizures from Steve and Max because she didn't want them to worry about her. It was a basic problem with all of the X5 model transgenics. They didn't produce enough serotonin and because of that they suffered from seizures. At Manticore they had administered tryptophan for them every day to help keep the seizures at bay. Later on, after Jondy had left Manticore she and her brothers and sisters, the refugees had to fend for themselves in that area. Manticore had eventually worked out the bugs and fixed their X5s which was why Alec didn't suffer from them. They had even fixed Max when she was recaptured by Manticore later on but Jondy had never gone back and had never been fixed. But she would take the seizures over reindoctrination any day of the week. She would suffer them forever if she had to.
It was hard for the proud and strong transgenic girl to admit that she was feeling weak. That was why she had spent so much time scouring Everett as she usually did for her own supply of tryptophan. It wasn't like she could default to drinking a shitload of milk anytime things got bad. The milk out there wasn't worth drinking, all curdled and stinking. By now all of the dairy had gone bad and Jondy had no choice but to take the pills when she could find them. The problem was that Everett had seemed to run dry. Nobody else was taking them except for her as far as she could tell but her need for them had depleted the city's resources.
She was still going out again to check another part of the city, to double check, to triple check and make sure she hadn't missed any. She was ridiculously thorough as transgenics were trained and built to be but she didn't know what else to do. She couldn't risk taking her motorcycle out of town right now. She probably shouldn't even be driving now. She was essentially procrastinating on telling Max that she needed help. She had taken care of herself for so long, she didn't know any other way to be. But she had just shared her first Christmas with what felt like actual family and she knew she had to learn to start leaning on them.
She had friends too. Okay, maybe she couldn't technically count Castiel as a friend but he had helped her before. And there was Stefan who she had been hanging out with a lot lately. She wouldn't exactly call Kol a friend but she knew he would be in her corner if she needed him. Maybe he could compel the seizures away. Ugh. The idea of being compelled did not set well with Jondy. She was already brainwashed for the first eleven years of her life, she didn't need any more of it. But if it could help? She wasn't sure if she would take it or not.
Maybe that was what had lead her towards Stefan's house. The house full of vampires didn't scare Jondy off in the least, probably since she used to live surrounded by the originals. Stefan didn't seem to be home though so she just leaned against a tree and waited.
