Who: Rose and Natasha What: Hanging out When: Today Where: The Inn Warnings: Nope
Rose was one hundred percent babied out. She loved Liliya and had spent plenty of time feeding, changing, holding and talking to the newest member of the Belikov family. But babies just weren't Rose's thing. She had such a hard time adjusting to the culture in Siberia when she had visited Dimitri's family and part of that was because of all the baby having. In fact, Rose had expected Viktoria to get knocked up a few years ago back in Siberia with that Moroi asshole Viktoria was dressing all slutty for. She knew Viktoria resented Rose's intervention at the time but it had been for the best. Azazeal was a huge step up from that Moroi douche. And luckily Viktoria had forgiven her between visits and all was well.
Babies weren't really ever a thing that entered Rose's mind and it wasn't just because she and Dimitri were biologically incapable of having them. Babies meant time and commitment, two luxuries that Rose Hathaway did not have. Not when she was a guardian and not now when she had so many responsibilities in Everett. She was a Chancellor on the Vampire Authority, actually a part of the decision makers rather than their bodyguard. That part still blew Rose's mind. She had to sometimes remind herself that she wasn't just Lissa's guardian and best friend that she had an official say on things too. She felt responsible for the prison too but mainly because Dimitri did. Right now her focus was the inn because that was where all the Moroi were and Rose's number one priority would always be their safety. It was too ingrained in her.
There wasn't any time for babies anywhere in there. If she wanted to have kids her choices were basically Adrian and Christian and both possibilities were extremely awkward and not happening in a million years. And beyond all of that, Rose didn't have a maternal bone in her body. Sure, she loved the little mini slayers but that was because those sassy little impulsive bitches reminded her of herself and she liked that. But it was more of an amused/proud big sister thing than a motherly vibe.
Rose Hathaway would be a kickass aunt. She vowed to always tell Liliya the truth about things even if nobody else wanted to. She would be the cool aunt that Liliya could talk to about boys and drinking and doing general teenage things that Rose would remember as she got older. Rose would make sure that the fire always burned brightly in her heart. Liliya had a lot of people supporting her making her a lucky little girl but Rose would be the best aunt. She was determined.
You know, when she got older and could be talked to and possibly bribed. At the moment she just seemed to squirm and cry and shit a lot. It wasn't really Rose's specialty so she spent most of her time downstairs lounging on the sofa. To the average eye she looked like she was relaxed but Rose was one hundred percent on guard and ready to spring into action at a moment's notice. And when Natasha approached the inn, Rose was up on her feet in an instant. She wasn't great with the baby but she could still be a good guardian.
She recognized the redhead at the door and opened it for her. "Hey," she said with a smile as she let Natasha in. "Everything okay at the prison?"
