Who: Dawn, Buffy and Willow
What: Girl times, reliving deaths
When: Tonight
Where: The prison
Warnings: Sadness?
Going back and forth between the prison and the inn wasn't that big of a deal for Buffy. She wanted to spend as much time as she could with Dawn, but she also wanted to spend her nights with Malachi. Only now her nights were ruined by reliving her death. The first night was a surprise and she felt like she was on that tower again. And it wasn't the first time, it was the last time. Connor and Dawn were there. The whole drinking their blood so she could close the portal was so vivid, so real. She could taste it all over again. Feeling it was the worst. The twisting and the heat, she felt the heat as it worked through her body eventually closing the portal and then there was nothing. She remembered Malachi when she woke up and tears were instantly in her eyes and he just held her. She didn't say anything, they both knew what it was, they just didn't know why.
It wasn't just her and if that should have been a relief, it wasn't. She didn't want her the slayers going through that, she didn't want anyone going through that. A few days after that, she found out that it would wear off. Wear off. That wasn't good enough, not by a long shot and Malachi was doing his best to make it less and less for her, but with all the help he was giving her, it still hurt. It was still painful and she knew being at the inn was selfish. Vik had just had her baby and it was a happy time. The inn had a different feel to it, one that she hadn't felt there in awhile and the nights that passed where she was in Malachi's room going through her death again was just another night that he was worried about her when they should have been celebrating.
But, on the other side of that, she didn't want to be at the prison either because she didn't Dawn to see her going through this - again. Okay, so Dawn always had a front row seat to the big tragedy, but Buffy didn't think that Dawn watching her was going to make it easier. And tonight, she was hanging with Willow, catching up on the what. She watched the time to make sure when she had to go back to the inn, if she even went there tonight. She felt guilty as hell being there but she knew Malachi wanted her there.
Buffy smiled as Willow talked about Tara and having her back. It just sucked beyond all suckage that Tara was reliving that. That Willow was reliving that day and Willows smiles turned into sad faces and Buffy frowned, sitting up on her bed and taking her friends hand. What could she say? Willow looked tired, drained and everything else that would result from her staying up crazy hours to figure this out, but even Willow came to the conclusion that it would wear off. She just felt useless because there was nothing she could do.
The vampire slayer ... vampire heard her before she appeared at the cell and Buffy smiled at Dawn. "Hey you," she said, sitting up a little more.
