Where: Out and about
When: Early morning
What: bb!hunter meets another hunter
Warnings: Zombies but nothing too bad?
She had known that it was a bad idea from the moment that she set foot outside of the prison, but it still didn't stop Krissy from setting off early in the morning when she knew that no one would really be looking for her. It was still somewhat dark out, since she was trying to use as much sunlight as she could to spend time outside before coming back, but it didn't worry her. With her winter coat, boots, and backpack of supplies and ammo, she was ready to go out and look for Kurt.
That part, looking for her friend, she knew it wasn't a bad idea. It hadn't been when she had snatched Will's keys from the hiding spot and had hauled ass with Lydia to go look for him when Finn had broken the news, and it definitely wasn't a bad idea now. She knew Will would freak, and who knew who else would have a cow over her sneaking out of the prison, but she knew the arguments they could give her and she didn't want to hear a single one of them. 'Kurt wanted to leave.' 'He'll be okay.' 'Maybe he joined another group.' To her it was all bullshit. Kurt had never been one for violence, had been so goddamn innocent. He had made it to the prison without a scratch, yeah, but considering how Everett was? Krissy couldn't allow herself the assurance that he was okay, because she could feel that sensation of doom in the pit of her stomach that made her feel that one day she'd be shooting a zombie and it would be her friend. She wished he was okay, she hoped that he'd be okay wherever he ended up, but Krissy had known death and loss from a very young age. In some odd, screwed up way she almost expected it at this point.
Tracking skills helped her move along, but with the snow and mud it was hard to really find anything that could lead her anywhere. Her shotgun was held close, ready for anything as she kept a close eye on the sun so that she wouldn't be out and about in the dark, but she still had a good portion of the sun left. She wasn't sure if she'd find him, or anything at all, but her determination kept her going. She had to find him. She had to find some way of knowing he was okay.
When she got to a clearing, she set her gun down and ate a few snacks as she tried to decide where to go next. While she looked at a map, from a distance she thought she saw someone moving in the woods, and she set out after them as carefully as she could. It could be anyone, that was obvious by how many people passed by Everett on a regular basis, but she let herself believe that maybe it was Kurt. And, if it wasn't, maybe it was someone that could point her in the right direction, and--
Her steps halted almost as quickly as her breath caught in her throat when she almost ran straight into a zombie. Unconsciously she pulled back, trying to get away from its grasp as it reached out for her, but scrambling away wasn't exactly easy. Not when she fell when her foot got stuck in something under a pile of snow, and she suddenly found herself staring up at the bare trees above her in a daze. What the hell...
The sound of zombies groaning and moaning as they began closing in on her made recognition click, and she pulled herself up as quickly as she could. Her shoulder hurt, and her wrist was already sore, but after spotting her shotgun she was quick to aim and shoot at the zombies closing in. The recoil hurt, but she didn't let herself think about it. Especially as she realized she'd have to reload soon, and she wasn't sure if she'd be quick enough for it since other zombies were closing in.
Fuck. Maybe this really had been a terrible idea.
