Who: Laura and Jason
Where: An empty cellblock in the prison
When: Evening
What: Laura relives her death, Jason gets a Hale family crash course
Warnings: Laura's death
Laura may have slightly been understating the pain she was in. Like an injured omega she limped off on her own to nurse her wounds. She couldn't even stand the thought of her mother or Derek or Cora having to see her go through this. And it wasn't as if she hadn't relived this night every night since but actually feeling the pain of it again as if it were fresh was a new experience. She knew her brother well though and so she kept changing where she went when she took her walks around mid-evening. Derek had enough on his plate without dealing with reliving this with her.
She thought briefly about knocking on Peter's door, about forcing him to watch her go through it. The only reason she hadn't was because Derek would flip out. She was positive on that one. He had been very clear about keeping their distance from Peter and she didn't want to stress him out anymore than he already was. The other reason was because she knew what she knew. Like Derek she wouldn't have believed that Peter had saved her if she hadn't felt it from Bonnie. The way in which Laura had gleaned that information was indisputable. It definitely changed something, she just wasn't sure what and like she had told her brother couldn't really think about it until the nightly nightmare had come to an end.
She had borrowed an iPod from Erica and had the headphones in as she sat on top of an empty bunk with her eyes closed. She was trying to meditate. It was something she had learned a few years back. Her friends on the cheerleading squad at Beacon Hills had all been really into yoga so Laura had done it for years. After she and Derek left Beacon Hills, Laura knew she had to find a way to reign in her own anger for The Argents. She was a lot better at hiding it than Derek was but Laura felt that rage inside of her. Meditating had helped her keep it in check and she was trying to do it again now, hoping that the pain associated with the death experience would be lessened.
Her senses were still on high alert and she ripped the headphones out of her ears when she heard someone approaching. They weren't being quiet enough to be Derek or Talia. Laura was surprised to see Jason appear in the cell doorway.
"What are you doing here?!" Laura exclaimed as she jumped up from the bed. "You can't be here right now." Normally the newly alive Laura Hale would be all over any alone time she could get with the handsome Jason Stackhouse but not right now.
