"Really? They don't strike me as a friendly bunch," she shot back at Wes as she grabbed the vampire by the front of his ugly denim jacket and slammed her head into his. He was dazed this time and Faith used the momentum to spin them around so she was on top of him. She smashed her fist into his face, once and then twice more as his buddy finally stopped screaming and sank to the forest floor. Nothing but smoky ash.
She could have probably already staked the vamp beneath her but she hadn't and he drove a sharp backhand across her face sending her sprawling off of him. He was up in a flash, kicking her so hard in the ribs it made her fly up into the air and smash into a tree. She groaned as she landed face first in the dirt as the vampire approached and grabbed her by her hair to roughly pick her back up.
"Slaying zombies is way easier than this," she said quickly. Getting her feet under her she rushed the vampire's waist and with sheer force threw him down on the ground right near her stake. She grabbed it quickly and slammed it home, the vampire bursting into a cloud of dust underneath her.
Breathlessly she pulled herself up to her feet. "It wasn't that bad," she said with a frown because it really was that bad and she could tell by the look on his face. Turning away, she picked up the marksman pistol and put it back into her holster.
"Hopefully Katherine's in a better mood than those guys were."
