The power had been overwhelming and Caleb had felt it immediately. There was no way he couldn't, it was intense, like no power he'd ever experienced and it had woken him out of a sleep he hadn't even realized he'd fallen into. He could tell it was coming from The Nemeton, the pull of it led him from the prison and towards where he knew the tree stood.
It became more intense the closer he got and suddenly something shifted and Caleb knew it wasn't good. He broke into a run and just as he reached the tree, he saw Lauren there, which would explain why she hadn't been in his dream like usual. They had a habit of meeting in his dreams, it was the only way they could go on dates and spend time together. Caleb had gotten quite attached to Laurel, she was the closest he'd had to a girlfriend since Sarah had disappeared, but each time he'd tried to talk about it, she'd brushed it off, reminding him she wasn't real and what he spoke of could never be. But as he started to ask her what was going on, she suddenly wrapped her arms around him and hugged him. Like really hugged him.
"Wh--but...how?" Caleb asked, pulling back just enough to look down at the beautiful brunette hugging him. "You're...real." A wide smile spread across his face, he couldn't help it.
