Isaac's anxiety was building and he could feel his heart pounding in his ears. This idea had sounded good, but as he sat there, waiting on Destiny to make her contact with Dick Roman in Purgatory, Isaac couldn't help but have second thoughts. What if he wasn't ready? What if this was a huge mistake and he wasn't free like he thought he was?
He didn't have time to weigh more of the possible consequences before Destiny's head tipped back and laughter echoed out of her. Isaac's jaw clenched and his hands tightened into fists in his lap. The black ooze spilling from her mouth made his lips curl in disgust but the fear he felt creeping in had his heart pounding loudly in his chest, all the way into his ears. "You made me hurt them." Isaac said through clenched teeth, his anger rising up and pushing down the fear. "But you can't do anything now. You're dead. You're in Purgatory and I'm here, still alive." He was shaking in fear, but he was trying to stay focused like Destiny had taught him. He wanted to keep the wolf under control, not let it out with his anger. "We beat you."
