Faith was a little nervous. It was election time and this was the biggest one she had seen in her time at the prison. Every day more and more people were showing, were becoming part of the community. It used to be that Faith knew everyone in the prison really well and now there was so many people that there were people she barely knew at all. She wanted to make it a point to get to know everyone just so she would know exactly who she was dealing with but some part of her wanted to remain detached, aloof. The man behind the curtain, the great and powerful Oz.
What a joke. There were people in the prison who could crush Faith if they really wanted to and just take over the prison. While during the sparring session she had learned that Pete was slow as molasses, he was strong as hell and giant and metal. He wasn't someone she wanted to screw with and that was just the tip of the damn iceberg. There were dhampirs, werewolves, witches, vamps galore, supernatural cops and hunters and Jack The Invincible Man. And the dynamic between a bunch of people was all about to change depending on who was elected onto the council. Anyone who didn't get reelected was going to think hey were doing a shitty job and there was going to be the usual insecurity from at least one person who was doing it for the first time.
Yeah, it was a stressful time and that was if you didn't count the psychotic vampire asshole locked up in cellblock G where nobody else in the prison ever went. Faith had actually gone out of her way to lock the place up. If someone wanted in there they were going to have to work for it. The only person she had told about Angelus so far was Wes. Faith didn't know why because that was the guy who basically managed to screw up part of her life by calling the watchers council on her ass. But she had forgiven him for that and he had changed a lot since then. Plus he was dead and that had to suck. She didn't wish that on him. If she wanted him dead she would have killed him when she had him tied to the chair and to be truthful about the whole thing she had a disturbed notion that only she was allowed to pick on Wes. Everyone else had to go through her.
At least there was Emily to take her mind off of things. That girl was cool, real cool. And she just kept Faith coming back for more with those pretty eyes and that pretty smile of hers. Emily wasn't just pretty, she was smoking hot and crazy if she didn't know it. Faith had no clue why Em was wasting her time with someone like Faith and she wondered if it was the whole leader thing. Maybe being a leader meant she wasn't supposed to get personally involved. But she couldn't help herself, Faith was always gonna get her hands dirty and that would never change.
But tonight wasn't about blowing off some steam and it wasn't about putting out fires. It was about the future, this thing that Faith always figured she didn't have. But as it turned out, she did have one. If Liz's vision was anything to believe it had to mean that the ptbs or whoever wanted Faith in the picture still. And she was in it to win it.
Against her better judgment she had loaned Damon her motorcycle. If it came back with a scratch on it she was going to kill him. And it was with the thought of killing one of The Salvatores on her mind she strolled out of the prison. She knew that Buffy was likely watching which was why she had taken the side exit and then hopped the fence. This was the first time she had ventured out after dark in awhile but she didn't want anyone to see what she was up to it.
