Who: Christopher and open to those at Southfork
What: Raging
When: Sunday morning
Where: Southfork ranch in Dallas, TX
Warnings: His Ewing temper is showing
It wasn't until after John Ross had become infected that Azazeal came to Christopher with Kaitlyn's drawing. He hadn't had any reason to show it to him before or to think that he would know where the place was, but the second Christopher had seen it, he knew. He'd never be able to forget a place like Southfork. His childhood home stuck with him and was tucked away into his heart unlike any place else. He'd had plenty of vacations away to places all over the world. He'd seen the wonders of the world and beauty that couldn't be described in words yet Southfork was miles above the rest. The moment he stepped onto the property he felt like he was home again. It brought him joy but also broke his heart to see how the place had gone down since he and John Ross had been forced to leave when the zombies had gotten so bad.
He tried to keep his cousin under control, but so far Roman was doing a lot of that. Kono was being hard to handle too and she was the more skilled fighter, but she seemed to have a glint in her eye that said they needed to watch out for her when their backs were turned. John Ross let it fly to your face. And he had let it fly because Christopher had the marks to prove it.
Before he left, Azazeal helped to clear out any remaining zombies that had taken up residence in the place and made sure to put some protection spells on the borders to keep anyone or anything out. Nephilim guards were brought in just as they had been at the Inn. He didn't look completely comfortable leaving them there, but the guy didn't have much choice otherwise.
Now that they were at the ranch and one of the three in Kaitlyn's vision had come down with the virus, Christopher knew it was only a matter of time before the other two came down with it. They didn't have to wait long before Kaitlyn did. Christopher tried to help Gabriel and Roman with her, but his worry for himself was beginning to grow. He knew what he could be like with his temper and that was without a virus. He didn't show it often, but when it came out? He had a hard time getting it under control.
Sunday morning rolled around and they hadn't heard anything from anyone back in Everett. Roman insisted that he was keeping tabs with his father somehow, but Christopher didn't ask too many other questions. Sometimes he was sure that he didn't want to know how he and Azazeal did the things that they did. Instead he busied himself cleaning up his old room. He'd left a lot of his stuff behind and it was bittersweet to have it back again. He looked through some of the old family albums. He cleaned up his father's room and felt a tug on his heart when he saw the picture of them together when Christopher wasn't more than six or seven.
Getting out of that room before too much emotion hit him, Christopher felt like he was having trouble breathing. They'd managed to snag a few generators to help liven up the place so the air was circulating but he still felt stifled. Something wasn't right and in the back of his mind he knew what was happening to him, but he didn't realize it in time before he passed by his and Rebecca's old room and he felt anger stir inside of him. Pamela, not Rebecca. Flashes of what their complicated relationship meant to him came to mind and he recalled the rig explosion and the self blame he'd felt for it. Instead it had all been his Uncle Cliff's doing. All because of the Ewing vs. Barnes feud and he hadn't cared who he hurt including his own daughter. Christopher's children.
Back in his own room, he looked around until he found what he wanted. A baseball bat that JR had given him when he was a kid for Christmas or his birthday. One of the few times Christopher had felt welcome by his uncle as a part of the family. He wasn't a Ewing by blood and he tried to prove to himself and his family every single day that he was one by more than just his name. With the bat in his hands, he began to swing. He swang with all of his might at the furniture, the walls, the pictures, everything.
He was a Ewing and he'd paid the ultimate price for his name in the end.
