Kaitlyn was in the shower when her hand began to itch and cramp. Since she still had shampoo in her hair it wasn't like she could just jump out of the shower, throw on a towel and sit down to draw. She hated when the burn in her hand came on when she didn't have an opportunity to sit down and actually draw. But in the past couple of years she had mastered the art of closing her eyes and let her mind do the drawing for her. As the hot water poured down over the top of her head, she pictured the colors she would need. Fleshy tones for two angular faces and a deep mahogany for hair. A deep navy blue to color in Christopher's vneck. She used a blue jean color for John Ross's button up and a light tan for JR's cowboy hat.
Once she had finished drawing the Ewings in her mind she realized there was a third person in the middle. She chose a paler flesh color for that face and a deep blue green to color in the new dress that Azazeal had brought her back from his last trip to wherever. She loved that dress it made her eyes look less spooky.
Next came a bright flame red which she assumed was for her hair and it was. She colored those long wavy lines in her mind but didn't stop at Kaitlyn's hair. Instead the red was then used to color in each of the Ewing's eyes and then her own as well. That was it. That was the picture. The three of them standing together with bright red eyes. Her heart rate sped up almost unconsciously because she knew that was one of the symptoms of the virus. Kait had yet to contract the virus and instead was just filled with panic that had caused the spike in her heartrate.
She couldn't have masked her thoughts now if she tried. She was sure that her thoughts were on wide broadcast to not only Gabriel but Malachi as well. She had been blocking Gabriel out for weeks, ever since he had hung out with Kaitlyn's rival, Frost. Apparently everyone in town had forgotten that Frost was fucking evil and had tormented not only her and Gabriel but also Lydia and Darcy and probably countless others.
As soon as the shampoo was out of her long red hair she all but stumbled out of the bathtub and was unsurprised to find Gabriel there. His eyes looked dark and hooded as he just stood there holding a towel out to her. She took it from him and wrapped it around herself. She grabbed another towel and wrapped it around her hair before moving past Gabriel without a word. It was strange but she still had a cramp in her hand even though she had already received the drawing.
She grabbed a piece of paper and her colored pencil set and immediately began to work on another drawing. This picture was a bit more bland than the one she had drawn in her head. It was clearly a desert area that she was sketching. Darker tones of browns and tans to draw in the fences and buildings. By the time she was finished she was extremely confused. The first picture had been clear as day. She and the Ewings were going to contract the virus. But this? Why was she drawing a ranch? She looked up at Gabriel and searched his mind and his eyes for any sign that this made sense to him and could tell that it didn't.
"We have to get out of here. Viktoria's pregnant. We can't be around here when the virus hits us." Kaitlyn would never forgive herself if she hurt Viktoria or the baby. She knew The Ewings wouldn't forgive themselves either. She had to tell someone about this. "I have to tell Azazeal."
She flipped her head over and quickly tried to towel dry her hair. Once it wasn't completely soaking wet she pulled on a tshirt and a pair of jeans before heading downstairs. Luckily Azazeal was in the sitting area by himself.
"I have to talk to you."
She walked over to him and handed him the picture she had drawn of the ranch. "I have no idea what that means but I drew it right after I had a vision of me and the Ewings getting the virus."
